I met my wife when she was a senior at Marquette and Crean was the coach. He was a beloved figure on campus and Wade was not even eligible yet.

And now I can’t see him as anything but a fraud that was given more chances than he deserves.

I was at Cincinnati when Crean was at Marquette. They were in the same conference and battled in some good games. I remember a game at Cincy when Crean was jogging back to the locker room at half time. Some fan started yelling at him and Crean stopped and screamed at the guy. All red-faced and profanity-laden, Crean was letting this fan have it. It was both funny and scary.

One of the few games my wife attended with me, as she is a "go sports team" gal, was Cincy @ Marquette in 2001. Marquette won against a better Cincy team.
