Yes they are. Saturday also showed we're very capable of losing all of those games with the likely exception of New Mexico and Austin Peay. That's still 4 SEC wins which I'm not sure when the last time we did that was.

I have no hope left to muster up.... the coaching saturday drained the well dry. We beat USC Jr with their newly found mobile QB........ then maybe a 2nd well will be found deep inside...

Ill say it again...beating those teams means nothing and its pathetic UK fans consider that a good season.

Beating 3 teams with a combined 4 SEC wins last season, a team who just lost to South Alabama, a team who has gone 8-40 the last 4 seasons, and a D1-AA team shouldnt make any SEC team happy. Thats not progress, thats just more mediocre. We have really gotten to the level where in year 4 we are happy with 6 wins vs 6 teams who wouldnt beat any top 3 Sun Belt teams.

So sad, only 1 of those teams won this past weekend(by beating another trash team on this list).

well efff yeah we'd be happy. Because it means progress.

A better record isnt progress. MSU just got horrifyingly worse. We just lost to a Sun Belt team. But hey lets get another huge win vs South Carolina and keep the Stoops Train rolling.

dont get me wrong............ I think Stoops is a train wreck .. But give him the rest of the season to try and win you back. Dont root for him to just lose.

6-6 doesn't get me all hot and bothered, but it does mean a bowl and an extra 20 practices. I am as cynical and doubtful as anyone but I would rather be wrong about the season being all but over than right. I think there are some who are now openly hoping for Stoops and the team to tank badly. I don't understand that mentality after week one, even with a horrible loss like Saturday.

I'm tellin you all now. We roll into the Turdvikle game with 5 wins and have momentum. We come out playing like we did in the first half and we win that game. That's how we get our 6 wins!!!!!

2-10 is as much a possibility as 6-6. That's the reality. When you can't stop the run you're fortunate to win any games. Fire Yhatzee and move on and hope AD picks a better coach next time.

Looking at the 6 possible wins, how would Southern Miss stack up against those? That's the only way to judge us right now. I think we still have a decent shot. Saturday will tell us all a lot more about the players and the coach(s).

All of those may indeed be "possible" wins. But it is not very probable. As things stand, Vandy, MSU, South Carolina and Missouri are all basically toss up games for us. As bad as our offensive and defensive lines are combined with our incompetent coaching, there's no way in hell we go 4-0 against those teams. Thus, our road to six wins is a treacherous route of travel with soft shoulders, dangerous curves, downed trees and a few rock slides to contend with along the way.

All possible losses. When 4 games are toss ups, do you REALLY think we'll go 4-0?

All are winnable games. I choose to be optimistic. We did see awesome offense on first half

The odds of winning all four tossups are approximately 6 percent. That's basically .5•.5•.5•.5 which is .06 percent. So UK has a six percent chance of going to a bowl.

"We just lost to a C-USA team" - yet, if we go 4-4 in the SEC, that's not successful? I know the teams we would beat to go 4-4 are not powerhouses. However, it's been 10 years (about) since we won 4 SEC games.... I'll take 4-4 this year.

I see 6 possible wins there. I also see 4 possible losses, and I'm hesitant to limit it to 4. Assuming we win the "should win" games and lose the "should lose" games, that leave us with the 4 games that could go either way. Win them all to go 6-6, lose them all to go 2-10. I say the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

As wildcat said, and it doesn't matter who the HC is, winning 6 games is progress. With this program's past hoping for instant 8 or 9 consistant win seasons immediately is fairy tales. I have the past to prove it, lol.

I'm probably the least optimistic of anyone on here, but 6-6, 4-4 in conference and ANY bowl game would be massive progress from where we are right now.

Still very much in play, just no room for error. A lot will depend on the locker room attitude. With a likely loss at FL the SC game moves from big to GINORMOUS. Cats will likely enter that game 1-2 with AL the following week. Through 5 games a 2-3 start I can be salvaged but a 1-4 start can not. JMO

Last week just completely sucked the life out of any optimism I had regarding the team, season & staff. IMO the talent IS there to win 6-8 games, maybe more with a few breaks. I was a firm supporter of Stoops from day 1 up until about the midway point of the 3rd Qtr last week.

It is incredibly deflating to continue seeing the same mistakes & gaffes in year 4 that were big problems from day 1. Many issues are as fundamental as the sport will allow. And, oftentimes there is an accompanying, circus like atmosphere that takes humiliation to new heights.

The clock mismanagement, awful play-calling, lack of adjustments & focus, player development, inability to stop the run or hold a lead, etc has been discussed to death. But, it's so troubling to think that after 3-4 years in the program for some of these guys, that they still can't tackle or block or understand schemes. New year, same issues. And, the losing sucks, but the ways we find to lose games are sometimes hard to believe.

After last week & the way we finished the UL game I just have no confidence in calling any game a win outside of NMSU & APSU. And, before the season I predicted 7 wins & wouldn't have been surprised if they got to 8. The team we saw in the first half is what I hoped & thought we'd be going into the season. Especially after another off-season with the staff talking about how much better they were across the board. But, it made sense bc all that young talent had game experience now. And another year in the weight room. How could they NOT be improved? Coaches included. All that talk & it turned out, once again, to just be more of the same.

I REALLY hope that last week was just a hiccup or nerves or some type of anomaly. But, going by the first 3 seasons it's likely this year will have another Keystone Cops type feel. Like most others, I really hope I'm wrong. Nothing would make me happier than for Stoops to turn it around & get us to a bowl this year & continue improving & remain the HC for the foreseeable future. The UF game is huge. If he can end that streak it could be a season changer & would soften the blow of last week's collapse a little. But, until I see a reason for optimism I'm gonna have a hard time believing this season will be anything but another disaster.

Maybe we can win 5 and get into a cheap bowl game like some of those other 5-6 teams last year, you know, just to fill out a bowl spot.

Prediction Time: UK against South Eastern North Dakota Technical Community College in the Larry's Tractor Parts Feed & Seed Garden Supply Bowl

It would in fact not be progress. USM would probably beat all 4 SEC teams we have a chance against. It is just more mediocre, like I said. 1 more win than 2 years ago is the most pitiful definition of progress I have heard. Atleast 2 years ago we beat an SEC team with a winning record. I am not making fun of anyone or meaning to insult you, I honestly feel bad that our fan base finds that good. If we play like we did when USM actually adjusted against anyone, I wouldn't count any game as a W just yet.

6 wins is progress and I know we can still win 6 games. I don't think Vandy, USC or Mizzou are toss up games. We are better than they are so we should win those. With the 2 gimmes that is 5 wins minimum so we just need to flip MSU or Turdville

I sure hope they win 6 games. The season is far from over. I know that loss to USM was terrible but I'm not going to give up on the season. Would love to see the Cats make it to a bowl game.

Stick a fork in them. Of the 11 remaining games they have no chance to slow down the rush in 9 of those games. You can't slow down teams rushing the ball and you lose. I predicted 4-8 before the season, I'll stick with that although that may be optimistic. Question is, will Yhatzee get fired for winning 4 games. Or will they give him an extension.
