Yea I'll give it to Mac if we're going to play that game. Isiah Brown had some big moments when we couldn't do a damn thing on offense. And iced it when Mac and Law couldn't. And Skelly hit a few big shots. So ..... I'm gonna say a lot of guys did just enough to beat a team that OWNED us on the offensive boards.

Now we gotta do just enough to win 1 more.

Skelly's 3s kept us close at critical moments. That one from the corner was huge.
Great thing about a game ball is that it's a subjective exercise. :) I was just so happy/surprised to see Skelly hit those two, especially with his shooting struggles of late. I was at that very moment of the game screaming at Collins for not having Tap in the game. He played so well in first half and saw hardly any action the second. But Skelly did his best Tap impersonation with those two 3s.

Have to agree there.

That said, Brown's made free throws to ice the game were also critical to freezing Rutger's hand in the closing minute.

Kudos to the "Alaska Kid" for blowing in with a north wind to help halt the meltdown so The Cats could finish with a good night to The Knights.

Nope, Turk was there in his usual courtside seat. He's the good lookin' guy in the Isiah Brown jersey. ;)

I had the same thought - get Tap in there, we need his spacing.

Skelly's corner three was spectacular - (I didn't even go "no no no yes!" when he released it - I knew it was going in) - and then the cameras cut to Tap doing some spectacular hands-as-goggles thing in celebration.

Skelly has been off lately, and the second half offense was awful until about the 8 minute point, and his threes changed the momentum entirely.

In the loss against Maryland, Skelly passed up open threes at least twice. His work in the gym paid off last night.

He mentioned on the post game WGN that he has been working with Gates a lot, sometimes shooting 200 to 300 practice 3 point shots. Hope he repeats himself vs. the illini and also starts boxing out on the defensive boards.

The 3 from the corner was nice but what changed momentum was the 2 defensive plays he made and the offensive tap back that led to BMac's second chance 3.
