Mount Airy

East Surry at Surry Central

Forbush at Starmount

Could be another thriller between these 2; both badly need a win but Starmount looks more impressive. They have played more consistent ball vs better teams despite the losses. The ‘Bush fell to earth last week and have to find a way back to orbit but easier said than done. The Rams are just more consistent and it will come together on Friday.

McMichael at West Stokes
North Wilkes
at North Stokes
Alleghany at South Stokes
Watauga
at Wilkes Central

East Wilkes at Walkertown

Tons of ? marks here as East takes the long haul to Walkertown. East is getting better every week while Walkertown is getting worse. WT came into last week’s game with 10 less players than the week before; have no clue if they have quit, got hurt, or got moved down. Cherry was out injured and that really hurt WT’s offense as he produces the most yards. Defensively the Pack is doing better but still it’s nowhere near enough. East will be tested as WT will have the speed advantage but East needs to bring the physicality in order to deal with Walkertown or else it could be close.

Bishop at West Wilkes

This one is a tough one to figure because Bishop has been tons better this time and West has been very underwhelming. Bishop brought the load to Alleghany last week and the Trojans could never get into it; they will need to do the same this week in order to stand a chance to beat West. Last year West dominated them but this year I see it being much different. West may have more kids and a weight advantage but Bishop will equal the physicality and will have a more wide open O. West struggles with the pass and will have a true game on their hands. Could go either way but I gotta feeling Bishop may shock here but West could ball control enough to win. This game will show how both will fair in conference play.

West Caldwell at Ashe County

The Warriors are struggling bad this year due to so many things they badly need a boost. Ashe however is hungry and isn’t going to do it easy. Last year WC won by 14 in a wide open game no one expected. This time I see it being the opposite; Ashe’s O is more dynamic now and West’s defense can’t handle it. Could be a rough night for the Warriors or could be their turnaround; I lean the latter.

East Forsyth at Carver

This will be the first time Carver has hosted East Forsyth in 16 years as the series was dropped back then as East Forsyth was struggling in those days. Wow has things changed.. This game will more than likely be an ugly one. East will score as much as they want and make Caver look 0 dimensional. If Carver scores a single point here that will be a victory for the Jackets however I don’t see it. East’s defense is truly killer.

South Davidson at Atkins

The Camels should break on thru here as South Davidson is struggling for their program at this point. However given Atkins’s issues this year it might not be so easy for Atkins. Atkins has issues with run defense and South likes to run it; it may be a closer game than we think. Either that or it will be a rout for Atkins.
