Cherokee 45 - Hayesville 28
Game was never close, but absolutely the WORST officiating I have ever seen. And they did not discriminate against Cherokee either! Jackets got their share of the " hose job" too. I really feel sorry for the rest of the SMC teams. At Cherokee, we at least get good officiating for 1/2 of our games! There are some good officials in the SMC, we just don't seem to get them!

I'm sorry, but it looked like the 3 Stooges out there last night! Again, not sour grapes, because we won! First game in my life that I saw a flag thrown "before" the opening kickoff!!!!! That should have been a clue of what was to come.

Ok, enough ranting. On to the playoffs!!

What in the "wide world of sports" could they throw a flag for ... before the kickoff? 12 men on the field? Delay of game? The mascot being out of uniform? Was the band off key for the national anthem?

The guy in the white hat standing on the goal line about 75 yards from our kicker said the kicker did not have his mouth guard in. Maybe he didn't, I don't know, but there were 4 officials much closer than him that did not see anything!

Don't be blasting the officials. They were at a huge disadvantage last night as they did not have their "seeing eye" dogs with them...

Anyways, who wants to talk basketball?? Come on over to the basketball boards, I'll be waiting. surely with nearly 500 students, Murphy can find a couple of kids that can hit a basket every now and then. It ain't gonna be pretty!

You didn't really say who you was talking to but since you talking big and bad .... We didn't lose to rville by 50... Hayesville wasn't ready for my braves .. And the last bball season we split 1-1 so enjoy your year lol

How is it possible for the same crew to be in two places at the same time. In our game with time running out in the first half they kept the clock running during the change of possession, after a pass completion the runner run out of bounds to stop the clock, and the female official kept the clock running because she said the defensive player forced him out. In the 2nd half on a pass play the receiver was tackled with the ball in the air and no flag, The back judge run over to her and told her they could not do that, that it is called pass interference. Probably did not cost us the game, but begs the question as to where these people come from.

The officials in no way cost Hayesville the game but they were probably the worst crew I have seen all year! Cherokee recovered a fumble the player was laying flat on his stomache when he gained control of the ball then he got up and took off running. Players from both teams were just standing around has he began to run, no whistles blown end result a touchdown.
