The reason Couisnard is at Oregon is because we fired Frank Martin. It had nothing to do with us being South Carolina. Couisnard did what most players do when their coach leaves - they look other places.
Only one sure-fire way to make sure former players don't come back to hurt us.
The downside of that is Frank might still be here.
Keep Frank, and thus, Couisnard >>>> short-term
Show Frank the exit ramp, lose Couisnard, and hire Lamont Paris>>>> long-term
I have never been a "day trader".
Could be, could be not. But do you figure the money to be better at Oregon - or here? Alrighty, then. Frank was fried here. No use waxing hypothetical regarding him..
And was he scoring 40 points for Frank? Were we invited to the NCAA tournament when he and Frank were in Columbia?
Even if you keep Frank, there is no guarantee Couisnard stays, thus is the way of college Basketball today.
I do remember before the game when I read the Josh Gray article on this site about how they were friends, and he would talk trash to him and say "you suck" to him now that he was at Oregon, That that was stupid and not a good idea.

Or, we could figure out a way to keep them from dropping 40 pts on us.........
And I doubt we win 26 games or at least the record of the former coach bears that out. By the way, the former coach had players heading for the exits in drove most years and that was before the portal hit.
