And the refs made this one closer, but is anyone really concerned about Illinois next week? We should have just out talented Southern Miss, even with our "bare cupboard," and we were a play or two away from going into OT. I'm not an X's and O's guy, what can we do to fix this?

I honestly don't think there is much that can be done this year except for the unforced penalties.
I am glad we won also. Sometimes we are extremists, but a win is a win. There were some positives from my point of view. The run game looked more diverse. I saw outside running plays, FB and QB involved. Not super great running the time out on the last possession, but we didn't ignore the clock and leave SMiss with a ton of time.
Still have things to work on though, game against Illinois should be more telling.

Riley should bench all the seniors and get PT for the players that he needs to be ready for next year. This year is a wash and he'll get a free pass. In a couple years, this won't fly.
