So if not Malik Newman, who does Jerry Meyer think commit to UK?

Stephen Zimmerman, Caleb Swanigan and Thon Maker....

Not that I don't hope this happens, but I honestly think the man just throws darts at a board.....

We have Skal already, we'll still have Lee and possibly Joknson. Why does he think we need 6 centers?

It's not who Meyer says we are getting in advance it's who he says we are getting a day or two before a kid's announcement and even then he can be wrong. But what do you expect from an ex Vandy assistant?

Caleb Swanigan is the elite rebounder of the bunch. I'd take him first over all these guys.

I think Meyer makes it a point to name every school in contention a "leader" at some point in every kids recruitment. That way he is almost always right... even when he gets it wrong.

Thank you, sir!

I know things can always change with recruiting... but I'll have an ear-to-ear smile on my face for the rest of today.

You are dag-on Skippy right. All I've heard from some insiders is that Calipari has been operating as if Malike Newman was coming to UK. That's why I don't believe Jerry Meyer.

As for the guys in the OP I've heard from insiders that Calipari was wanting to see if Thon Maker was able to reclassify and if he was then Calipari was going to put the full court press on him because of his length and athleticism and potential is extremely high. They feel like Thon Maker is another big who can defend like WCS.

Here's the thing with Newman. Yes he a stud scorer and player, but if it is true he wants to play point and get his minutes let him head down to the fightin shaqs. Maybe that's where they will make Kaazam part 2 so he can be the leading role. Idon't want any one player disrupting what we have going on here. I'm not saying he will I'm just saying if he's a me guy let him go. I would take the twins briscoe and booker together over him any day.

I trust Dave Kersey 100x more than Jerry Meyer when it comes to UK. Meyer almost ever gets things correct when it comes to UK.

I would be rooting hard to land Jaylen Brown if I were y'all. Kid is going to be the best freshman in the country next year. Hearing overseas could be an option for him, though. Anything but wasting his talent away at UCLA. I'm sick of watching Georgia kids go out there and accomplish nothing. I'd much rather see them come to Georgia and accomplish nothing.

I think any fan with a pulse would rather have 4 current productive guards over 1 sure fire one and done player haha.

I don't find it as surprising to see stuff about Newman to LSU, they would be great if they kept Martin/Mickey and added Blakeney/Simmons. I just don't see how Newman would want to come if we have Ulis (whose proven to be a proto PG), Isaiah Briscoe (combo guard/ very similar to Newman), and Newman wanting to have a shot to play point. I'm by no stretch saying he won't come here, but it definitely makes you think he has to be looking extremely hard at other schools. If anyone in the country can balance this its Cal (i.e. Bledsoe and Wall), would love to have Newman but I'd probably want Brown over him at this point. I miss having a super athletic 3 with good size (MKG) and I think Brown could be a similar player, not as good defensively but probably more polished offensively thus far.

I agree with your opinion. Brown is the best player in the class, IMO.

Jaylen Brown would be my first pick too. Of course I may be saying that because he lives about 15 or 20 minutes from me and I have seen him a few times. If there is anyone out there better I haven't seen him. If UK is out of the picture I would prefer he go to Georgia. But as a UK fan, I want him in Lexington.
