So is the housecleaning done or is the O-Line coach next to be shown the door ?

It probably depends on who the new OC is. We aren't going to fire Yenser or hire a RB coach until we have our new OC. If it were to end up being Liam Coen, he might actually want to keep Yenser.

It would be kind of weird if the one guy who has received the most hate from the fans over the course of the season ends up being retained while Scang and Settle are sent packing.

Hell I would have thought he’d been the first one to go. Be curious to see just how many coaches have come and gone under Stoops. Does he hold himself accountable for any of this? Be curious to see if Rich Sc has any parting comments. To me, it seems like he micromanages too much.

Just anecdotally it seem most of the wrath has been towards Scang not Yenser. Settle OTOH has been fine as a coach from what I can see, it's his lack of recruiting that has resulted in his replacement.

Word is Goodwin wasn’t the only OL player not putting in the work.
What rotten luck. Poor Yenser. First, the previous coach didn't play backups enough last year. How are sec personnel supposed to compete against 4th place Missouri Valley Conference Youngstown State without years of experience. Then he got tricked into thinking Wolhbaugh was his best left tackle. Now Goodwin and others weren't working hard enough. Geez, so many excuses.

Agree 100%.

Don't forget the whole missing blocking assignments and poor technique issues --just didn't have time to properly evaluate personnel before game day. You know, nobody really does "twists and stunts" anymore....

Am hoping Stoops is gonna' let the new OC take a swing at, or at least have input, for a new OL coach

Some of the missed assignments could be on the OC. If the system was too complicated for everyone that’s also going to make it tougher on the OL not knowing their protections or the QB not communicating that the right way.

He's freaking 18. Give him a minute. Everyone isn't an all american that adjusts to being away from home immediately. 2 years from now you can call him a bust.

Did not take Deone Walker two years and he is a lot further away from home than Goodwin is

Exactly. He was a 5* player. They are by definition supposed to be immediate impact.

He has to get his physique under control or he will never reach his potential

Hate to ask this but is Goodwin on the road to becoming a bust ?
Why was he not being monitored as far as his workout habits diet etc ?
I don’t know but we all followed the end of that recruitment so closely like it was life or death. Mich St came in late with a strong offer supposedly. Will be funny if none of it even makes a difference in the end

Not really, it's not like posters on here know why the offense struggled they just like to whine and complain

Hopefully, he should have been the first one fired. While the line was better the last 2 games, it shouldn’t have taken him 10 games to get them to be halfway respectable.

Not sure but they already posted the open rb coaching position. They usually don't post the opening till they have already got their guy.

He was NOT a 5 star player...high 3, low 4...

He was absolutely a five star by at least one service. He was espns 44th recruit overall. So yes....he should've at least been in position to rotate. Instead he looks like he's several years away. In fact he's the very one giving up the special teams pressure up the middle on these blocked kicks

Rewriting of recent history is pretty funny to read. Goodwin was recruited and could have gone to any top 5 program in CFB. Hello, where did he take his 5 officials too?

None of us are in the weight room or spring/fall practice fields, we have no idea if the O line was bad due to:
a)bad position coaching
b)bad talent/recruiting misses
c)bad fit to wide zone scheme
d)bad offensive coordinator

Another history reminder, Liam Coen hired Yenser, or helped screen candidates and highly recommended him to Stoops.

Everyone is different. I am as interested as the next guy to see what happens with Goodwin, but the small performance sample so far does not tell us anything one way or another.

Look at the FG unit vs U6. Besides the kicker, holder, snapper the unit was, from left to right: Upshaw, Young, P. Rodriquez, Goodwin, Justin Rogers, Buford, Burton, Dinkins. Major changes from the first of the year, this was not the unit that gave up so many blocked kicks.

Unlikely to keep Yenser if Coen comes back. Different blocking schemes. Coen was outside zone blocking.
