They lost to a ranked team. But your theory will be tested with #9 Iowa State loss to #10 Iowa on if someone will drop further if not Ohio State.

For a few hours, right up until Michigan slapped Washington in the face.

Ohio State seemed like they made no defensive adjustments. Oregon didn't do anything fancy, but Oho State never had an answer for a few select plays the Quacks continued to run, particularly the block back play that opened up the short side of the field. Seemed to fall for that play every time they ran it.
