I've checked UK Athletics.com, stoops troops, and a few other places but haven't seen any mention of the Spring Practice schedule. Traffic has been fairly light on this board lately; just thought I'd start a new thread and pose the question.

I agree-- why aren't we getting spring practice notes snd/or updates!?

They were having a few practices of install before spring break. When they get back they'll do 3 or 4 days a week.

I think I remember a schedule printed where they practice Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday until the Spring Game when they will practice the day before the game, and they were off this week for spring break.

But what happened on their third day of practice, Saturday, I haven't seen a word about it from anyone. Way too much secrecy for me, I really don't believe that these coaches really are in the process of solving the cancer mystery or are creating new life forms. I,m not sure why all the secrecy is necessary at the START of SPRING PRACTICE. Most of the results are probably going to be on display at the Spring Game anyway.

It is irritating as hell to me, make them all have open practices if that is the only answer, at least in the spring.

Thanks, that makes sense since a lot of them are going home all over, the schedule I saw was VikingCats schedule, and I don't think it mentioned being off the first Saturday. But I wonder how some of them will handle that week off, some could lose a lot of their edge without the schedule and guidance they usually have. Besides when I was playing I wouldn't have liked taking a week off from football.

My comments about all the secrecy still stands though, doesn't make a lot of sense to me in the spring. We had a guy studying to be a Doctor that used to give us great reports, think his name might have been Persian Cat, I think he must have dressed up as a janitor or something to get in.

And what about the "non-mandatory" practices without any coaches they used to have after the spring practices, will they still play EKU, the only convenient opponent?

I believe a lot of guys are staying to learn the new system. I'd say most will watch film and work Fri and Saturday then go home or on vacation and will return Friday to get ready for practice to start back.

I love to get practice reports or even better to go watch but come on man, your sense of entitlement is reaching Sanders proportions. Sometimes the coaches don't want any outside observation. Hopefully, there is some Junction Boys stuff going down when that happens. I will let them have all the secret practices they want if it translates into wins in the fall. We just have to remember our role sometimes.

None of what you're hoping will happen and I remember Persian the one year, this spring's practice schedule looks to be a repeat of last spring except there's going to be a spring game. Somebody tweeted a picture of GJ and Baker working out on their own, so individual workouts are the best we fans can hope for as players can do what they want this week...smart, hungry players will stay in shape.

The staff has been installing the new offense for the last 5 weeks on iPads that the players were given to study in their free time.

I don't think the practices are closed to keep them secret so much as it is to avoid distractions. The fans at the practice can be a distraction to the players and all of the scrutiny and publicizing of each practice can be a huge distraction. It would be impossible to insulate the players from all of that. The media would control the narrative instead of the coaches so why allow that to happen? It could create problems in the lockerroom before the first game is even played
