Georgetown outplayed the Cats in most every facet, and they made a ton of difficult shots on top of that. Plus, the UK offense looked really out of sync too many times with 2 or 3 guys moving to the same spot which killed spacing causing the need for more difficult shots.

In addition, one thing is for sure, this Georgetown team certainly is a good prep for SEC play. This Georgetown team was holding/fouling on a huge percentage of the time when a UK player would make a cut, and that will definitely happen when the WWE, I mean the SEC, play starts.

Pope said it a lot last year, but that's why it's so important for the offense to cut HARD b/c that exaggerates the defensive player holding/fouling.

BG hasn’t improved at all and will be the 3rd big once JQ returns. He’s a very maddening player.

Kam is in way over his head and is gonna take longer than expected to make an impact. He’s just so lost.

Noah just simply doesn’t have the defensive chops vs more athletic teams. He will need to shoot 38% or higher from 3 to offset his defensive liability to play significant minutes IMO.

We need Lowe and Aberdeen back ASAP and they will need to play 28-30 minutes each with JJ and Chandler providing the depth.

Feel good about Jelly and what he can provide when Mo D is on the bench.

I agree with you about Noah and Kam. They will be valuable if their perimeter shots start falling AND when they are part of the 2nd/3rd wave of wings. Noah can play better when the other teams' wings are getting a little dead in the legs.

The other thing is these two guys are susceptible to opposing athletic teams who are going to hold on every cut... which is about half of the SEC teams. These guys MUST draw these fouls when they cut, and the only way to do that is playing at 100% speed.

I do think Chandler, Noah, and Johnson are all soft. Johnson has the same flashy, stupid shot, but talented offense with abysmal defense that Dillingham did.

About BG not improving, that is a great point and was very predictable. I had researched highly ranked Centers(not the elite of the elite, but like C’s that were between 20-60 in their class rankings) that had played significant minutes as freshman/sophomores in major conferences. In the last 10 years or so, very few ever showed much improvement. My theory is their size/general athleticism/skill is good enough to standout in high school but have topped out from a potential standpoint due to less than elite athleticism and usually flawed games.

Moreno and JQ need to be the C’s by SEC play.

100%! Use BG as a spark off the bench for 13 of so minutes. All these dudes are getting paid so they need to settle into their role and accept whatever that may be🤷‍♂️

Yeah the team played soft! Garrison kills the offense when he has the ball at the top of the key! I would give Noah & Kams minutes to Braydon Hawthorne I think he would be a lot better option play him now & it will pay off by the end of the year he is super talented.

Yes, at least Pope should try Hawthorne...

At least Hawthorne will get some experience

But if Hawthorne played well, it would get reward

It could not get worse at that time

Just like las season were gonna be soft as charmin. Our season will be dictated by kids earning millions while not playing bc of paper cuts and headaches. Mitch hired a big time loser and we're stuck with it bc he sit at the end of the bench in 96 lol. 22 million dollars and he can't compete with Georgetown

I would worry more about UL going mid major when the ACC blows up. I mean it already is mid major, SMU? lol. The question Louisville needs to ask is why they hired a midget? Nobody wants to coach at UL, it’s an overshadowed program who nobody knows nationally and the history is mid. It does have to suck to be known as the other team in a state where no one knows who you are.

then you’ve got the customary *** beatings to the blue blood in the state that never seems to end. I don’t even know why we play UL. We need to rotate it with eastern, western, UL, Morehead etc.

Now all I see is the nation laughing at the little guy coach as every coach towers over him in the handshake line. The comedy doesn’t stop with stripper U, the only team in history to have a title stripped. It’s a 1 decade program that is nothing but an overshadowed laughing stock.

Enjoy landing at another mid major. The SEC and BIG said NO, lol. Maybe the AAC will take you and you can play Memphis, your real competition.

one stomach turner was Jelavic turned away like a soccer player not wanting to get hit in the gonads when one of their players went in for an easy bucket and one.

He will need to quickly assimilate into how the game is played in this country, it seems to me. There is more physicality and speed here … and less finesse.

I’ve never liked the big dribble handoff to the wing play cause the d will switch defenders on who cuts back door & rolls to top of key. Puts a lot of pressure on a big to read that pass correctly. OO with a lot of weak ish drives, very nonchalant with the ball & handle something I thought we wouldn’t see this year. And we set zero screens away from the ball or to get anyone open other than dribble handoffs, doesn’t work vs athletic teams that switch and willing to let the big shoot 22 ft shots. Also, our post offense and defense is terrible and JQ cannot get healthy fast enough cause BG is not the answer. Hes a sub that can play about 15 mins/game but you cannot depend on him consistently.

Going to be a long and disinteresting year I'm afraid. They don't have a single elite level offensive player. The bench players are extremely limited athletically to guard high-level players as seen last night.

The amount of doom and gloom on here after an exhibition game minus three starters is kinda insane. Y’all need to get laid. We will be fine.

LOL, beat Purdue and UK is final four bound, lose to Georgetown without a PG and we are doomed. Only on Rafters. EXACTLY how we get our name "crazies". Same people if we beat UL will be back here pounding their chest "we are loaded, 12 deep, #9, etc, etc." Rinse and repeat.

Got laid, and my effort was far better then Kentucky last night 😁.
Guess we're not as deep as we were thinking, but there are no excuses for lack of effort, even from the last man off the bench.

In an exhibition game, we exhibited a lack of quality depth.
That seems to be the biggest takeaway most here have and are concerned about.
