Pope has got to start working on late game situation when down. Time and time again when trailing late and time to start playing the foul game we act like we don’t have a clue what to do. Don’t foul at all or wait 20 seconds in the possession to start fouling. I’ve never seen a team that looked so disorganized in so many late game situations. And it’s not just bc butler is out, this has happened in a few games this year. Do better pope. Quit spending the whole 2 hours everyday in practice on your zoom offense and working on stuff that’s also important in the game of basketball

We've lost atleast 3 games bc we played 35 mins instead of 40...this one, vandy, Bama...and we almost folded in the last 5 at Tennessee
Pope needs to take timeouts earlier toward the last 5-8 minutes. Damn, I thought the former coach was bad in that area too. Coach can’t wait until the other team has totally flipped the momentum. We had a total breakdown in the last 4 minutes tonight.
Our guys were tired at the end of the game. It’s the result of injuries. Pope will get it together.

It is unbelievable for an analytics guy to not have any idea how to lengthen the game. Calipari was the worst I had ever seen, but Pope is even worse.
We have 8 guys. Plenty of teams around the country play with that many of less. We’re not very well conditioned. I’d like to see a practice just to see what the hell goes on in that craft center. I know it’s not defense. I know it’s not late game situations. I know it’s not rebounding.

We had 3 timeouts left with 5 minutes to go. Those can be used to help rest the players.
OP is 100% right. Grinding teams know who to foul and do it QUICKLY. I would expect much better from an analytics coach.

When you are down, you simply get the damn ball, go after it, go after it aggressively … you can sometimes come up with the ball … if you foul … that’s okay, of course, but GO GET THE DAMN BASKETBALL !! Don’t let the clock run !!!!!

Yeah, not that my opinion in coaching matters but I'd spend an entire practice on blocking out rebounds. You want to play you put a body on someone...Brea and almanor don't want to, you don't play

Im sure there are things Pope could have done better. But you don't coach masterclass games all season and then just "forget" at some points. I think tonight was a lot of failed execution. Bad turnovers, missed free throws, getting our shots swatted. You can't convinced me that at least some of this wasn't just because our team itself just was outmatched down the stretch.

It doesn't help when your top two players are sitting on the bench in sweats. But the Cats made so horrible turnovers, early in the game, then clean thing up only to revert back to some bad turn overs.
