and.... tOSU Defensive Line is supposed to be one of the top D-lines in the nation. So both will be tested early.

tOSU O-Line is ranked #8.

If games are won on the trenches, this game doesn't look too good for our Sooners. But I think the game will be won on turnovers.

You are not giving Ruffin any credit. Looks like reports from camp are that McRuffin says he has never had this type of D-Linemen and that they love being coached hard. I am more worried bout the Mike backer, the "QB" of the defense.

Should be an epic heavyweight matchup. I could certainly see both lines playing to a stalemate and a turnover at a key moment could very well decide the game.

Lets just hope we don't have a backup QB running his mouth this year without thinking.

Quite sure LR had a talk to the team at their first mtg no bulletin board material this time. Stay under the radar. WS

Iasooner that's not what lost the game. As a whole, Ohio state was much more physical and it wasn't even close. Hopefully thats changed and we play a better game in Columbus. I wouldn't wager on OU to win this one, I hope I'm wrong

No arguments here except a healthy Dede may have kept them a lot more 'honest'. Our O line was pretty porous in the early games and Baker was running for his life.

Would rather hear that at the end of the season rather than hear it before a single game is played. Just more of the usual hype that will bite you in the rear year in and year out. I am not from Missouri but I have the same mentality, "Show Me"

Damn some of y'all couldn't get excited if you won the lottery.

Have a good, or even great, offensive line is one of the strongest starting points in football. We have arguably the best left tackle in college football and 4 more starters who all developed and played well together as last season unfolded.

Smile fellas. Just 3 more weeks.

They still need to prepare and play hard but because of the quality of depth and incoming new players OU’s OL has not been in a stronger position than it is right now since the mid 1980’s according to Merv Johnson.

I trust his words over any poster and especially over any local media personality.

Yes and no. Stats were very similar by the end of the game with the exception of turnovers and fourth down conversions. Both teams averaged around 5 yards per carry. Ohio state took advantage of our terrible defensive game plan featuring a 190 pound linebacker and also feasted on our poor CB play. Ohio state was the better team that day but they weren't the better team by the end of the year. We both lost some key pieces. We will see what happens this year.

We're not an effing b1g school, even though we got handled by their 'best' early last year

It's easy to lose to a team and then at the end of the year claim you are better than them. I said it's easy but not smart. Okie State, Baylor, ISU and so on are not Ohio state.

OU had I believe the nation's longest winning streak at season's end and domimated a good Auburn team in the Bowl game.

Ohio State & JT Barrett looked like hell at season's end & were not even a conference winner. I heard on a sports talk show the JT Barrett in 5 late games had a QB rating of 40 which is even below poor!!!!!.

This was also the Ohio St head coach's first shutout in his entire tenure at tosu.

OU wins this season at Ohio State and maybe even by a lot.

Different season and better OU players and better depth.

BOOMER SOONER!

You are going by what could have happened, I'm going by what did happen. And we look to have better depth this year but in August we just don't know. Replacing two NFL running backs and Westbrook will be difficult. As I've stated I have us losing 2 games, that's not a bad year.

You're tripping. It takes severe malfunction to be shut out in today's game. Do you honestly believe the Sooners would have been blanked by Clemson?
Maybe not.
But 40-6 and 37-17 (with no points in the second half) in OU's games with Clemson in 2014 and 2015 aren't very respectable either.
Outside the Big 12, shutouts do happen occasionally.

No games last year have much relevance in regards to the game this year. Having said that, the game played in Norman has even less relevance than the bowl game performances. Each team was going in different directions by the end of the year.
