light it up in the NCAA tournament? Sorry for my ignorance, but I cant remember for the life of me!
This is what I was thinking, thanks! On a side note, GTHC GTH!Dre didn't light it up. His shots were huge, no doubt. Huge. But he only had 6 points on two three-pointers - both coming in the first half. But I thought his second three was really big because we were trailing by 6 with roughly 30 seconds left in the half. It was a big momentum boost that carried into the second half.
Edit: Just looked at the play-by-play on ESPN. We were leading 29-25 with a little over 3 minutes left in the half. Baylor went on a 10-0 run to go up 35-29. So yes, that 3 by Dre was crucial. It ended a run, and it gave us some confidence going into the half. Easily the biggest play in the first half for Duke.
A side note on that tourney. I live in WV and I loved how we whipped them in the FF. They bragged liked crazy after betting us in 08. They still maintain that they would have beat us had Butler not blow his knee
He hit a big 3 late in the Baylor game
Do they even remember when Butler got hurt? Show them this video clip - we're winning by 15 points with less than 9 minutes left... but I'm sure West Virginia had us right where they wanted us.
I will concede, however, that the player-coach exchange between Butler and Huggins was one of the more genuine and memorable moments in the NCAA Tournament. Very personal and very real.
