Hi Cats! Just checking in here. It looks like it will be a good game this Saturday. Both our teams have issues, and I think both teams need the win to have any shot at a bowl game this year. USC is inconsistent on offense, with a true freshman QB and OL issues. Our Defense takes "bend, do not break" to a whole new level. Spurrier left the cupboard bare, we are playing a lot of freshmen and hoping for Boom to replenish the talent. That is going to take a while.

Honestly, I think this one can go either way. I hope we have an injury free game.

We need the win worse than you. If we don't win this game, we aren't going bowling and program is set back another 4 or 5 years. If you don't win - you weren't expected to win and it will not affect your recruiting as your coach will have at least two if not three more years to build.

We both don't have great histories in the sport. Both of us have had some success - yours basically being with Spurrier in recent years - which makes it hard for you guys to accept what is going on now. But we haven't a lot of success in 40 years.

Go Big Blue!

We just gave up 42 points, 500 yards of offense and 220 yards of rushing to a cellar Sunbelt team with a bad offense. So I expect you guys to move the ball.

The positives are - it looks like our new OC is legit and though we had an injury to our starting QB, our JUCO backup looked extremely solid. He adds an extra dimension because he can run a bit and was surprisingly accurate with the ball (coming out of fall practice, Barker was supposed to be the more accurate of the 2).

I predict a shoot out IF our OL can minimally protect our QB. I know you guys are going to score points due to manhandling our DL and our weak play at MLB. But our OC knows his stuff and if we can block, he's very good at calling the right play.

So we have a puncher's chance.

I don't think you all have much to worry about. Right now we have people discussing whether or not UK will be all that competitive against the SEC and even the FCS team on our schedule later in the year isn't a for sure win. South Carolina should win by around 10-14 points.

We aren't going bowling if we do win this game either most likely but yeah, it is a must win for the slim Lloyd Christmas hopes we have.

We understand, we have our problems too. Just curious how do the cock fans really feel about the way Spurrier left your program?

Your bend but don't break is nothing to our bend and break defense. We take complete ownership of this new type of defense.

To answer your question, we are all grateful for what he did but very disappointed in his last three years. He got complacent after the three, eleven win seasons and made horrible coaching hires and staff decisions which ended up as his down fall.

I think Spurrier really hurt his legacy the way he left. If he had resigned following the bowl game two years ago, our fans would have been cool with it. He is still our all time winning coach and many fans hang their hats on that. But the way he walked and now hanging out back at UF, has left a bad taste in many fans mouths. It is very obvious that he basically stopped recruiting 3 years ago. We are paying the price for it now.

Yeah I figured as much. We have the same feelings about Petino.

Carolina is playing true freshman basically at every skill position. I watched a little bit of WM's post presser yesterday and my first reaction was Stoops can't hold a candle to this guy's defensive mind. I had no idea he was that intelligent when talking scheme...I just knew him as the belligerent hot head that got canned at Florida. Them young gamecocks are starting to take on his personality so I think UK needs to man up or get ready for another reality check. I think UK has the run game to hurt SC as well, should be a fun game.

I hope I'm wrong but I think SC beats us pretty easily. NMSU is probably one of the bottom 10 teams in the country and they could have won.

It was actually his last year and a half. He finished #4 in the country 3 years ago.......but who's counting.

Ha ha. It only seemed like eternity coming off of our successful seasons. He should have retired after the Miami bowl game but the we probably don't have Muschamp since he would have just been fired by UF.

If our Defense plays above a high school level, which hasn't occurred so far, I think we can win. Otherwise, SC takes this one.

Yes, once his heart wasn't in it any longer, he should have retired and not kept up a facade for the next year or more. Anyway, the KY vs SC game can go a hundred different ways. I can see us getting blown out, but I can't see us blowing anyone out offensively. I can see us winning a close one. I can see KY winning a close one. We are so freakin young it's scary. Not a recipe for winning on the road in the SEC, but maybe they'll grow up a little. My biggest regret is that this game is no longer in October so we can't do the Keeneland run and the game.

The Wildcats might very well win by 17, but I doubt you are really a Gamecock fan.
Tried and true and disgusted at the last couple of years. I left last year's game in Columbia before the half. From all the talent we have had the last few years, Gilmore, Clowney, Lattimore, Connor Shaw, Alshon,......the cupboard is now bare. Along with the coach no one else wanted !

The cupboard being bare is all on Spurrier. I think Muschamp deserves a fair shot.

We probably have the worst defense in SEC history. We are in a year-to-year regression where we are going from bad to worse with a lame-duck coach at the helm. Kentucky football has reached a new low this season and for those of us that have sat through 40 seasons of this mess that is both hard to believe and utterly depressing.

When you say both teams have issues - that may be true, but I'm not sure outsiders can fully grasp just how deep the issues at Kentucky go. South Carolina has already defeated two teams that are better than Kentucky - Vanderbilt and ECU. I think Kentucky will put up a fight, but ultimately SC should win this game by 10 points or more.

I will say this openly to all SC fans - if you lose to this Kentucky team then you have serious problems. I don't mean that sarcastically at all. For those visiting Lexington, I hope you enjoy your trip.

Please tell me Jo Jo Kemp graduated. I don't want to see him in the Wildcat. I still have nightmares about that game!!!

No, he is a senior. Was injured this past week and status for USC is questionable, but they have been running the Wildcat with Benny Snell (a bigger, faster version of JoJo).

Sorry but you'll have to face him one more time. Our (lack of) defense will be the difference in this game. At the beginning of the season, I frankly considered this to be UK's most winnable SEC game, but I'm now to the point where I don't think we'll beat anybody not named Austin Peay.

The Cocks suck. A real no talent bunch coached by no talent coaches UK by 17.
From a Gamecock !

Damn, homeboy is **** talking the players too! Bet you wont say that on the South Carolina board pancho. You like calling in to the DP show just to hear them ring the bell for you Mr. 5'5" 130? Yeah yeah, we know you coulda had that D1 scholarship but you tore an ACL right? I'll express my dissatisfaction with Stoops and co. but to **** talk my team players that put it all out there every practice and game? That's dirty **** pancho.

Pay no attention to this Clemson troll posing as a Gamecock. He doesn't know what he is talking about.

Muschamp is refilling the cupboard. Rescued last year's class and brought it into the top 30. This year, currently ranked #9 recruiting class by Rivals. Had three 5 stars in to visit last weekend....we've never had three 5 stars on the same weekend that I can remember. Recruiting overcomes coaching shortcomings (ask Dabo at Taterville or Les Miles). Some people think they are actually good coaches.......but they suck at coaching but are good recruiters.
