Special teams were not the best this year. Most schools have a special teams coordinator, At OU the RB coach has this duty. If there is a coach that has to do double duty maybe it should be Ruffin. The last time we had a good return team was with Antonio Perkins. Even on the blocked field goal last week, the tackle blocked out leaving a gap for #7 to go through. #1 rule on field goal blocking is to protect the inside gap.

Why is the squib kick even an option in the heads of today's coaches?
It never made sense. And since they moved the touchback placement up to the 25 yard line, it makes even less sense. Almost nobody returns the ball out of the endzone anymore.

It was a bonehead move, especially with Siebert hammering the ball routinely deep into end zone or out of it. Sometimes these guys overcoach and on that play...they made a terrible decision...whoever dialed that crap up.
