Turned on The Opening Drive on WJOX this morning b/c I LOATHE Auburn and wanted to enjoy hearing Tony and Del Greco cry. At 8am (CST), I switched over to WLAP to hear Tom and was, sadly, met with a rerun/best-of mashup. Matt will also post a rerun show at 9am.

And that's the difference. If Saturday were the start of Bball season, anyone here believe for one second the entire WLAP crew would observe any holiday on the following Monday?

We are UKFB and we always will be UKFB. And these are only some of the reasons why.

Truth and I don't listen to Matt Jones. Because he knows nothing of football, yet he is the prime spokes person for UK football on the radio with a pregame show, post game show and two hours every day on national radio (thanks to the internet). Oh and he knows little about UK basketball prior to 1995.

It is really sad.

Speaking of radio, wondering if they will let a few steamed fans call in on the next Stoops Radio Show, or will they get blocked this early?

If I were UK, I'd block them. Not the right thing to do, but hearing fans turn on the coach after such a display of canine fornication in the first game will certainly go a long way to dismantling a season before it ever really gets started. I mean, we do still have a chance at some wins, albeit a slight chance. If I'm UK, I'm in damage control mode right now before this thing slips away in the first week.

I think you are correct, this season may turn into a dumpster fire very quickly on it's own lack of merit. There is no reason to help that along right now, there remains a slim chance things could get better. The people that control such things have to give it a chance for the next couple of weeks after that it is what it is

Matt talked about this on his show the other day, Tom planned on doing a show today but Matt didnt want to do a show. So Matt had Shannon call Tom and tell him not to do a show either and they would just do best-ofs. Matt seems to think he runs things over there, and obviously people listen to him so maybe he does.

I enjoy Matt Jones- but the one thing he does that drives me crazy- ala the above quote- is he so quickly says "This is the best/worst game/crowd/loss/win in UK history." They can't all be Matt...

This sums it up. If you want a tough or worse loss read about the Tulane game in the when Fran Curci was coaching. So many Florida and Tennessee losses that were "worse loss" you can't list them all. Matt Jones has no idea about these games because he was not born. Yet they stung just as deep as Saturday night. It is part of being a UK fan.
