Manning may be a long shot....or maybe not....but it's obvious Venables and his staff are ramping up OU's recruiting efforts to the highest level.
I am very upbeat about OU football these days. And Riley did OU a huge favor by leaving....when the dust settles all will be restored....and it almost is.

A very long shot but I wouldn't mind the Manning pedigree jumpin on board. What a start to new beginnings that would be. Ole Miss is Ely's Alma Mater which I expected Arch to land with Kiffen and Lebby in the first place imo. Arch is a real possibility. 
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm sure the Mannings are familiar with Cale Gundy.

Hey Arch might want to pave his own way and not go to the traditional SEC program. Lebby seems to have a lot of contacts
The Lebby Hire might have been based, partly, on improving the chances of signing Arch. I think Lebby’s offensive prowess speaks for itself. While I think the hire opened the door to recruiting Arch to OU, it was the total package (experience developing QB’s for the NFL, great offensive mind that has been tested against great defenses, excellent recruiter, former OU player that respects the OU brand, many interpersonal/inter-professional relationships in the industry, & prior relationship with Coach V.) that made Lebby a great fit.
I agree. Lebby is liked very much by the Manning family. It's a definite possibility!
Manning would bring a high profile into the picture for the Sooners. Bigger than Rattler or CW. Evers needs his chance to shine, but the Arch is a big draw for Lebby.
I wasn't taking one thing away from Lebby's A+ Qualifications, tan...Most everyone is aware of those, and are highly satisfied with the hire! The thought just came to my mind, that being familiar with Team Manning didn't HURT his Quality Resume! Fringe Benefit, perhaps...
Oh I am sure the wheels were turning as far as that possibility
We are forgetting that Ralph Rucker is a very good QB. Gabriel, Evers and Rucker is a qb room most schools would kill for.
