Anybody tried it? The local ABC store I frequent had a few bottles in the back. Picked up a bottle for 45 bucks. 130 proof, so it seems a bit strong. Probably wouldn't have purchased it without tasting it first, but down here, we are so limited on selection, I wanted to try something different.

My favorite bourbon of all time. Grab every bottle you can get your hands on at that price. (And I've had Pappy 23, 20, George Stagg and a few others considered to be pretty good.)

I've only had the first batch, which is a 134.4proof, and it is OK. I've heard that the latest batch is the best of them. I mainly use mine to vat(mix) with weaker bourbons, such as 80proofs.

If you like barrel proof bourbons, I'd suggest you try and get Four Roses single barrel barrel proof store picks. Those are always a winner and range from 105proof up to 119proof

There have been a few releases of Stagg jr, and they tend to vary a bit from release to release. A couple were not real good, but some are just fantastic. I have heard good things about this current release, but I haven't tried it yet. In the past, a splash of water brings out a lot of a really nice, sweet caramel, cinnamon, and vanilla aromas.
