Star Trek the Next Generation may not be the best show of all time but it may be my favorite show ever. I would typically not purchase CBS All Access but I'm going to have to for this.

It looks like the show has A list writers and producers and lots of the old guard will make appearances. I watched several of Patrick Stewart's interviews on the circuit today and I have to say I'm very happy this is happening. Unfortunately they won't drop the whole season at once it will come out weekly to keep people subscribed longer.

I haven’t done my homework on this one but I presume that CBS All Access is the only legit way to get the show?

Heard it is getting a lot better ratings then the Discovery one they did. Which is good considering it was the least favorite thing Star Trek ever. I always loved Deep Space 9 and Voyager but I am younger.

Huge fan of the original and moreso TNG. But DS9 is the tits in the last 3 or 4 seasons. The series taken as a whole, the character development is immense and due to baby-sitting a wormhole, they were able to create larger plotlines, larger buildup.

DS9 squatting every episode by a wormhole was it's biggest drawback IMO. A static outpost soap opera.

To each his own. The original and TNG are a cut above, although the other series has their moments.

I dont have beef with that take, though the Dominion story arc spanning several of the final seasons, didn't seem to be squatting in a single place.

Edit: the full Dominion arc lasts from season 2 through 7. I guess I'm mainly referring to season 4 or 5 on out, when the backdrop of tension and moving toward war was building. Those seasons include a lot of time spent in Cardassian, Klingon, Romulan space and the Gamma quadrant. The Defiant also went on frequent missions.

The Defiant helped, and I think that’s one reason for the introduction to help provide some mobility/exploration.

Last few seasons were unique to Star Trek, rather than the standalone episodes it was a tightly choreographed multi-season arc.
