I'm not disappointed in Noah as the starting three as he always has to be an option there and I like Aberdeen better than I did yesterday; I just think JJ's top potential is just so high. I think Moreno is better than Garrison but I don't think Pope will make that change. Thoughts?

Garrison/ hope he gets it figured out. Got all the potential, but going to have to give us more or Moreno is going to eat his minutes up.
Noah at the 3

Hell this line up you may see Pope to change the line up depending on the opponent.

I have an irrational belief that Garrison is a key player this year and his development will be a key piece of this team long term. Moreno is going to learn what playing against seventh year seniors is soon enough and while I love the 1-2 punch, I think Garrison brings stability and will continue to improve the more he plays. I am also a poor person with bad luck so there’s also that to consider about my opinion.

Jelavic, I felt, looked good even if he didn't have a ton of stats. When he was out there, it was like a comfort to watch him play. Just seemed to know where and what he should be doing.
I actually like him too. I just don't think, right now, that he's as good a player at the 4 or 5 as JQ, Moreno, MoD, or Garrison. You really can't give good minutes to more than 4 but there will be games where he gets good minutes.

Really like Mo at the 5 for a small ball lineup. Since he can bring the ball up. Same for Jelavic.

Lowe
DA
Jasper
Oweh (Good rebounder, has good hands/boxes out well).
Mo
I've had that thought about MoD as well. But I hadn't really considered AJ there for this year.

Lowe
Aberdeen
Otega
Mo
Moreno

Jasper will be that Rob Dillingham spark off the bench.

later on
JQ starts over Moreno but I am so shocked with how good he is. Him and Jasper could end up being one and done. Again though we’ve only seen 2 games but I really love what I saw.

You are right about JJ … he may very well average more FGA/MP than Dillingham. JJ’s playing style reminds me of Antonio Reeves.

It may be difficult to play JJ and OO very much at the same time, without disrupting team offensive flow … as they both are volume shooters.
They took 19 of the team’s 61 shots in 36 combined minutes of playing time … JJ (10/19) and OO (9/17). JJ seems to get most of his shots spotting up, while OO tends to create his off the bounce.

to JJ or not to JJ. He's dilligham. More than anyone, he's not afraid to let it fly, but... as above poster said, he kind of could disrupt team offense. A

I’m going to say Oweh and Aberdeen, with the remainder being fluid based on opponents and who seems to have a good day in the pregame warmup

I love Jelavic's size and agility. He made some good rebounding plays. Gonna be a nice addition

I don't see how you can start Noah. He's a liability on defense. He can help the team, but I don't believe a starting role with lots of minutes would benefit UK.

I think Mo is definitely the starter, but after that, I think as of now he's next up at the 4. Garrison and JQ will spend 90% of their minutes at the 5 and JQ likely doesn't see the floor until January. So I think for a good while Jelavic will get 15-20 minutes at the 4.

I think Oweh is trying too hard to be what the nba scouts told him. More jump shots and threes.
You can tell he’s forcing it and just needs to give up the mid range Jump shot and shoot less 3s. He’s more comfortable just driving it to the rim and finishing. Also like his off ball play and put back dunks.

He'll have plenty of minutes to prove himself before JQ gets ready but I really don't see the Jan. thing with JQ. We've heard great things about JQ's recovery and if he only came back in January he'd be taking almost 10 months to come back. We heard his injured leg was 97% as strong as the healthy one 6 weeks ago. I get people not wanting to set themself for disappointment but I think, barring a re-inujury, he will be starting when the Cats play UNCheat on Dec. 2

I am against idea of putting JQ as starter immediately as soon as he made returning. He still needs to learn the team defense, learn the offense sets, how to make plays for current teammate. He needs some games and more practices to learn in real competitive environment.

Team defense needs familiarity with teammates, JQ lacks that now because of injury.

I certainly won't call your take wrong but JQ is crazy smart; I bet he already has learned a lot and is doing everything but scrimmaging. But I don't think he will immediately be put in the starting lineup. I expect him to be cleared within the next month...

I get that we have heard he's recovering quickly, but we have to remember that the typical ACL timeline is still 9-12 months, and his surgery was in March. There are some that happen quicker, but that is still the average. He is also just turned 18 and a top 5 projected pick, so as much as the Cal BS is gone, JQ still has a father who will be highly involved in his son being 100% before he is put back out there.

I imagine when the doctors clear JQ there might be some head butting between him and his Dad and Pope because the kid wants to play.

For me, it doesn't matter who starts. I get pumped to see who's coming off the bench next.

It's gotta be Lowe, Aberdeen, Oweh, Dioubate, Garrison (until Moreno takes it from him or Quaintance comes back).

Jasper could play his way into starting but for now, he's coming off bench and will get plenty of minutes.

I have no clue. I hope once he is cleared, it's simply go out there and play, but you never know. Part of me remembers how wild his recruitment got once Cal left, and most thought he was going to UL, and then out of left field, he went to ASU for a large amount. That sort of thing doesn't make me feel like there couldn't be more options on the table for them.
