These #s are damning. I know we believe we can't pay the buyout and Donati doesn't want to and that we're probably going to bring Paris back with a greater NIL commitment. But how can you possibly retain him considering these numbers? I think the worst win % is 100 years is incorrect, but it's up there with the worst.

You're looking at a "Can we afford to fire him?/Can we afford to bring him back?" dilemma. It's not a dilemma to me.

If this guy was a straight commission sales rep, they'd repossess his car and put an eviction note on the front door of his house. The water and power would have long been turned off.

I think if Donati wants to improve the men's basketball program he should part ways with Paris to at least give the program a better chance.

and as others have stated, Paris will not be hurting financially as he will become rather wealthy if dismissed.

Do we strike out on coaches more consistently than any other teams in the P4 conferences? I'm genuinely curious to know how we stack up to other schools with needing new coaches every 3-4 years because it's obvious that they're heading towards complete dumpster fire.

This is insane! You don’t fire a coach when he’s on a long winning streak!

”Totally Agree!!!!! We had a slight dip in the program midway through the year but this team is going ALL. THE. WAY!
SEC CHAMPS, BaaaaayBeeeee!! Then, FINAL FOUR!!!!!!!

Bring him back, Bring him back! Bring him back! (say it with me!)
Bring him back! Yes! Bring him back!!!
More NIL! Yes! Bring him back!!!“

This team is cutting down nets. They lost this season in purpose because it builds character!

GT in the coach search now. I'm sure the Miami(OH) coach and all the new mid major coaches that have a good record this year will be the hot ticket. That's how we've gotten stuck with several coaches.

I think Donati should look at the current basketball coach at Furman, Bob Richey. I understand this doesn't sound to exciting as Furman is not a SEC school, however check out his resume before your roast me. The man is a consistent winner with no losing seasons through 11 seasons, 7 of those seasons with 20 or more wins. Richey would be an awesome hire in my opinion, a coach we could hire. Give this guy the NIL resources as he is a proven winner!

I learned Furman beat Louisville at Louisville back in 21-22 season in OT. This man can coach!

The school in Charlotte, Queens, that beat USC’s baseball team just made the Big Dance in MBB for the first time in school history. It’s their first year of eligibility, no less. Sigh.

No no no… not Bob Richey. Stay away from him. His accomplishments were from Medved built program and has not maintained the success.

Furman just won the Southern conference tournament beating ETSU so he’s having some success. But I know next to nothing about Richey.

Richey he has been a consistent winner in all 11 of his seasons at Furman, he has some quality wins outside of his conference. I hope our current AD will at least explore the option to see if there is any interest. I could be entirely wrong on this, but can we afford to offer a bigger name who is currently winning, when you take into account the 12 million dollar buyout with Paris.

my thoughts are to look at very successful coaches at smaller schools, ones who have demonstrated winning over multiple years and not just one single season as with Lamont Paris at his previous school.

It boils down to how much money is South Carolina willing to throw at it's basketball program. Even then, the roster changes so much from year to year.

Wasn't Richey discussed on this board when Martin was let go?
