Ever since got in trouble for the nut grab and wink he hasn't done anything. Fans and Huggs neutered him.

Both Cat and Huggs stayed at WVU past their primes.
Huggs will not want to leave like this. I believe he wants to make one more run in the NCAA tourney, then he'll step aside. I was hoping he'd have that opportunity this year. But if he were to be forced out at WVU, I can see him landing at another school soon.....maybe even Cincinnati.

Huggins is done once he leaves here. I don't see anyone forcing him to leave but they might sternly suggest retirement or contract renegotiation.

I RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE. HUGGINS IS BEST COACH EVER AT WVU ALONG WITH FRED SCHAUS AND, IN 3RD PLACE, IN MY OPINION, RED BROWN. THE PROBLEM IS THE 9 TALENTED STRANGERS, OTHER THAN THE TCU GAME, NEVER GET ON THE SAME PAGE FROM TIPOFF TO FINAL HORN. 32 POINTS MORE AT RIGHT TIME AND WVU WOULD BE IN FIRST PLACE IN BIG 12. THE NUMBERS SHOW THAT. TEXAS TECH IS A MUST WIN FOR WVU. IT'S ONE THING TO LOSE TO KANSAS OR BAYLOR, BUT NOT TO THIS YEAR'S TEXAS TECH TEAM. IT'S THE BATTLE FOR THE CELLAR GAME!

Numbers show that every game is a must win.

There are only 11 conference games left 5 home and 6 road games where we haven't won in 2 years.

To have a shot they need to win at least 7 of those final 11 and beat Auburn.

I’d rather he just finish here, even if we just barely scrape by to make the tourney. Maybe just tell everyone in the department that next year is the farewell tour. It’s frustrating to watch as a fan and I want to see Huggs go out with at least making a tourney run at WVU.

I'm sure that another NCAA run is his preferred final season. Issue is this roster doesn't have a base to build on for next year. So it'll be another year of cobbling together transfers which has not been a recipe for success with Huggins style. So he will have to weigh desire for a good exit vs the real possibility of a lousy exit missing 3 consecutive NCAA tournaments.

Kansas State, TCU, Texas don't have a solid base either.

This will only be the 2nd consecutive missed tournament as one of those was a canceled deal including conference tournament.

Other teams' issues are irrelevant.

WVU is not making the NCAA this year barring a miraculous turn around. So my post was saying that if Huggins wants another shot at the NCAA tournament next year he has to factor in the risk of a third consecutive season failing to make the NCAA tournament. Unfortunately the latter is more likely given how well Huggins teams have done with mostly transfer portal additions.

Huggin has two successful seasons between two ****** ones. Now a third ****** season after a ****** season. My point is it can be done in 1 year.

Again, unless this season has a miraculous turn around this season will end about as well as last year which would be back to back crappy seasons. I'm not going to say what Huggins is thinking nor what admin will or should do. All I am saying is that if we assume, as another poster postulated, that Huggins is worried about ending his career on a sour note with 2 consecutive NCAA tournament misses and/or losing seasons after this year is over. Then Huggins would have to consider the real risk of 3 consecutive failed seasons versus the likelihood he has a NCAA tournament worthy team next year.
