Here's another reason why I am thinking the SEC will fall off from it's historic height to come back down to earth vis-a-vis the strength of the other conferences.

The Big Ten is shaping up to be a very good conference next year. Purdue, Michigan, look solid already. Illinois with a nice portal haul, along with Iowa. Still not sure about how good Michigan State will be, but there is no reason to doubt Tom Izzo will have the Spartans in the mix for a Big Ten title. Same thing with Wisconsin, not sure how good they will be either. And all that is not even mentioning if Indiana can finally make the NCAA tournament.
