Just so you know, for future reference, I agree that having at least one NBA player is usually needed to be elite. My studies show it doesn’t have to be a top NBA player by any means. There were plenty of teams who won with a really good college player leading the way who ends up becoming an NBA draft pick afterward, such as Shabazz Napier. So I actually don’t disagree that elite teams need one or more NBA guys. We have one…he just hasn’t suited up yet. And we may have more as they develop.
Yeah; so we agree. I just said, it’s usually a safer bet to get that one stud, from a top 5 player. Rather than a 4 star.
That’s where we disagree lol. Did you know 5* OAD players make up less than 5 percent of national championship teams’ starting lineups over the last ten years? There are more Unranked starters on those teams than 5* and almost triple the amount of 4* compared to 5*. It only “feels” like the 5* are the studs. Truthfully, some of those are really good but not one single team won a title in this era with a freshman leading the way. It’s old news. We see this really stout freshman class and get jealous, but 1.) most classes aren’t built like this class, and 2.) I’ll bet you my bottom dollar the team that wins the title this year won’t be led in scoring by one of these OaD freshman. It’s another emotionally based thing that everyone *knows* is true, but it’s actually just fantasy.
