Seems like the father/son act in Baylor is full of clattering skeletons...plus quietly the thug Oakman was suspended for the opener against SMU. Blabbermouth and whining Art Briles is about to see the pendulum sway the other way soon. Baylor will go back to covering empty seats with tarps again....and rest of the Big 12 (minus KU) can wipe their feet on them as a doormat.

This is why nepotism rules/laws were a good thing. Family will hose you almost every time.
Of course, my tale of woe is unique and in no way the norm...

Briles, Sumlin and Patterson are the current favorites of the Texas High School head coaches. I've heard from a horses mouth (coach) that both Texas and OU are respected when they are approached, but Briles and the SMU coach are like family. My source no longer coaches football at the major program he did, but he still has connections.

Typical Briles smokescreen and deflection. He makes Hillary proud.

They're playing Lamar so they don't need the services of the 2 suspended coaches. Mrs. Briles or the Mika chick from MSNBC's The Morning Joe Show will probably step in as the OC for the 1 game. No sweat off Art's back.

Briles' self-disclosure is mere foreplay to show he intends to follow the rules and improve his and Baylor's image. After all, he brought in the 2 thugs (Oakman from Penn State and the recent rapist from Boise) so he needs to pull a phony tough love act to regain a measure of credibility.

Perhaps I'm just being unreasonably cynical in my old age.
