Will Betancourt opens up about transferring to Penn State wrestling; what does it mean for the Lions?
Penn State wrestling just won the 2022 NCAA title. But, it's now setting its sights on the future and has picked up a big addition.
Quick enough for ya, @Tom McAndrew? Thanks again for the heads up!
He’s never going to beat Robbie Howard. I’d be very shocked.bravo @GregPickel. You put together an article pretty quickly after I gave you the heads up, and the article addresses all of the questions I had about the situation.
Nice to see that PSU will have some depth at 125.
Based on what he said last year he plans on coming back at 125. Guess we’ll see. I’m just praying RBY stays 1 more season.Whose to say RH doesn’t go to 133, especially if RBY doesn’t return.
Wrestling up tends not to work, Bartlett for example. Micic another exampleWhose to say RH doesn’t go to 133, especially if RBY doesn’t return.
Yianni Diakomiholis, Kyle Dake, Bo Nickal, Anthony Cassar, Sebastian Rivera, Jake Kemerer, Hayden Hidlay, Mekhi Lewis and dozens of others might beg to differ with you.
If they are cutting a lot of weight and then build into the new weight class it can and has worked in the past!Wrestling up tends not to work, Bartlett for example. Micic another example
Correct. Big difference in wrestling up and out growing weight class. Yanni wrestled up. Dean wrestled up.If they are cutting a lot of weight and then build into the new weight class it can and has worked in the past!
Bo Nickal went up twice, and the 2nd time was undersized. But he's special.Correct. Big difference in wrestling up and out growing weight class. Yanni wrestled up. Dean wrestled up.
Sometimes it works and sometimes not. It depends on the physical and mental characteristics of each wrestler. If going “up” or “down” worked in an absolute sense, we would never discuss the topic. I had a boss back in the 90’s. His favorite saying was “ain’t it great that everybody is different”.Wrestling up tends not to work, Bartlett for example. Micic another example
