Man, that lawyer was a basket case.
It's sad that eastern Kentuckians have been instilled with fear and anger towards outsiders in order to protect the interests of profiteering corporations.
Can you blame them though considering how they've always been portrayed?
I love eastern kentucky. I love Appalachia. But anyone claiming that growing up in McRoberts was a perfect childhood is too delusional to have a rational discussion on... any subject.The first jury was hung 11-1. Wonder who they bought? That is not strong support from the culture as Mr. Polly suggest. That lawyer is an embarrassment to himself. I knew dozens of people that lived out of company stores and it was no picnic. His bragging about it makes me think his dad was a mine boss.
I am in agreement with John Blue in that 1 year gives the whole state a black eye.
