Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat

What game did you prefer?

Always preferred Street Fighter, bought a knockoff SNES mini during the covid lockdowns that had basically every game on it and I think Street Fighter has held up much better too. It is still fun to play and Mortal Kombat just felt slow and clunky in comparison.

Love 'em both, but of the two, I probably prefer the Street Fighter games. Tekken tops 'em all for me, though.

Tekken as mentioned is better than both and I was unbeatable with Armor King.

Virtua Fighter was my favorite fighting game. I preferred street fighter but the initial fun and hype and finishing moves of Mortal Kombat is always a great childhood memory - we just got sick of it and played Street Fighter way more in the long run. Loved the Mortal Kombat movie when it came out in the day as well.

I prefer Street Fighter. But Tekken is my favorite fighting series. That and Soul Calibur. Street Fighter 3 Third Strike is very good.

I liked MK better, and remember the Sega version had blood, the snes did not. But I wasn't as good at the game as others...hence like others said I liked Tekken the best...especially 2 & 3.

Also what was that other similar fighting game, Primal Rage? I just remember it in the arcade.

Primal Rage was also on SNES and Genesis. It was made by the same company as MK. It was basically MK with Dinosaurs and giant apes.

Street Fighter 2 Turbo on SNES.

I was 13 in Lexington, recently diagnosed with type 1 juvenile diabetes when I was gifted the above combo.

Some of the best days of my life.

Mortal Combat was great bc of the gore. Blood codes some of us still remember, am I right?

It's a close call personally, but I have to rank Street Fighter over Mortal Combat. I spent countless hours on both as a kid in the mid 90's, though.

I've always found SF2 too hard in the single player. SF 3 and Alpha were a little easier.

I have not played any Mario games on switch, but having played pretty much every Mario game ever, I would agree. My fav Mario game.

Neo Geo had some good fighters. Samurai Shodown, King of Fighters, The Last Blade.

It was fun getting crazy combos in Killer Instinct though.



I played the originals of all of these fighting games more than the modern ones.
