Carolina -4 1/2

Carolina has a much better O-line then New England and obviously a very mobile QB so Denver's awesome pass rush will be neutralized for the most part. I like the Panthers here by 10 points.

I don't watch much NFL ball but, due to some hospital recuperation have seen a lot the past 2 week ends. I agree with your assessment. Top to bottom the Panthers are the best. If I were a bettor I would lay that 4 1/2 tonight.

Peace

They will beat Denver like like a rented step child, watch that line jump to close to double digits to get the action. Cam will put an end to Mannings career with a loss. Just my opinion.

The NFL will make damn sure this game comes down to the last possession. A blowout dents their second half market share ( a la 2014 Broncos / Seahawks).

Denver's D is athletic and aggressive enough they can stay in ANY game with the right whistle. And Peyton now plays so conservative, he's not going to have one of those 4 int games that go to the woodshed.

Bank on the game being won on the last possession, which lends itself toward taking the points since it covers 90% of the close game scenarios.

That said, both teams had a bunch of injuries on D yesterday, so we'll have to see how those shake out.

Carolina is good and Cam is the key. He will be far and away the best player on the field.
But Arizona self-destructed with their turnovers. It looks like the jitters got to them.

This is Carolina and Cam's first Super Bowl. Peyton has been there and done that. If Carolina plays a clean game, I think they win. If they don't, look for Denver to pull out another close one.

I don't know that I would say he is far and away the best player. Von Miller is on that elite level.

You're "that guy" - the NFL can't and doesn't control outcomes. Just doesn't happen.

Historically when betting the Super Bowl, the hottest, 'eye test' best team not only wins but covers. Panthers will cover easily IMO. Denver's defense is for real but Carolina's offense is way harder to defend than NE. Since Manning cannot stretch the field, Carolina will play just like the Seahawks did: everyone with 5-8 yards of the LOS and then come up and blow up the WR when they catch the ball. Don't really have to respect the run game much at all. Bear in mind, the Panthers' D was top 5 or 6 in the NFL so they're no pushovers, either. My gut tells me that Vegas and bettors are giving Manning some points because he's Peyton Manning. But, honestly, he hasn't been PEYTON MANNING since midway through last season. If the Broncos win, it will not be because Manning lit the Panthers up for 350 yards and 3 tds. Just don't see any way that happens.

'Course they do call it 'gambling' for a reason, right?

Vegas knows what they are doing and sees Denver's defense being just as good if not better than Carolina's. Denver wins on a game winning TD drive by none other than.....Brock Osw....Peyton Manning BABY! Rides off into the sunset.

Huge fallacy with the above: Vegas doesn't know or care how good Denver's defense is. The only thing Vegas cares about is setting the line so that half the money is bet one way and half bet the other. Has nothing to do with who 'Vegas' thinks is better. It is Vegas' job to correctly guess how the betting public thinks and, imho, many people are swayed by the 'Manning's last game' storyline and his stellar career and how 'great' it would be if he'd go out a winner. Vegas cares NOTHING about that. All they care about is that people will bet with their heart when their eyes tell them that Carolina is a stronger team in most phases of the game. Denver has a better pass rush, for sure. Pretty equal rush defense. Denver has a better secondary. Carolina's offense, in every phase, is >>>>> Denver's. Panther special teams are slightly better because Ginn is such a dangerous return man. I like Carolina's coaching staff slightly better but some of that may be because I saw Kubiak look so clueless with the Texans.

I may eat my words come Sunday but I don't see this game being that close. Denver's D will keep it close for a half, maybe, but they'll be tired out by 3rd quarter and Carolina will win going away. I think.

It is all about evening the betting, at least to some degree. The line suggest to me that a lot of people including myself believe the Bronco's have a good shot. Carolina is the favorite, sure they should be. Denver's offense is limited now. Manning has to be more conservative to avoid the interceptions. And the running game, while very good at times, is far from the best. Moving the line further would likely entice more people to take the Bronco's figuring they can at least stay within a TD. Personally I think they're going to win, but that is an admitted biased opinion. I'm a Bronco fan.

The Panthers D is going to destroy Manning. Manning can't throw deep and is a complete statue in the pocket. I just don't see how Denver can score enough to keep it close. I love the Panthers to cover.
