Here is the headline to the story from online but the link no longer works.

OU athletic director Joe Castiglione will name Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning as the next head coach for the Sooners. Lanning, just a 35-year-old, has had a meteoric rise through the coaching ranks, landing him in Norman in charge of one of the biggest brands in college football.34 mins ago

He will be the boost on defense this team has needed for many many years. Younger guy and from SEC. And recruits hard.

Looks like SI made a correction to their story earlier.

CORRECTION: Georgia DC Dan Lanning Still a Candidate at Oklahoma

EDITOR'S NOTE: Earlier Saturday night, SI Sooners inadvertently published a story reporting that Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning was being hired as the next head football coach at the University of Oklahoma. As of 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, Oklahoma has not named its new head coach. SI Sooners regrets the error.

Still a lot of rumors out there,
Final 3 Aranda, Lanning and Brent V.
Some saying its Brent V's to turn down.
Who knows, just name whoever it is and get on with it.

As of this morning, ESPN had posted that BV will be the next head coach of OU and Lebby is his choice for OC.

There’s still a lot of talk about Dan Lanning but I’m trusting your insight. If correct, Brent doesn’t have to bring Dr Pepper to be welcomed back. Boomer
I was told about an hour ago by a source at OU Athletics that OU and BV have a deal "in principal" with very few details to finalize. The news is expected to be "leaked" today if not already. If I hear it, it means many will soon hear it. We should hear something latest tomorrow.
