No kidding. Dook Vitale is about the ACC, not reality.

I agree. Duke better hope it doesn't have to beat Wofford to get there. LOL

Vitale is like a pair of worn, whatever. Maybe one, not both. Too crowded at the top this year. Not that I'd expect it matter's to him. Sometimes you just need to walk away. He should, it's time. ESPN has treated him graciously, but is definitely showing him the door. Time for him to walk through it.

Even when folks were lobbying for Vitale to call the Duke at UNC game Espn didn't care. That's progress, but Vitale has said he wants to work till he's 100.

Well, Cal says conference tourney results have no bearing on seeding, or is that just SEC?

Or is that him referencing 2011 when they beat Florida in the SEC tournament, and Florida still got a 2 seed and UK a 4 seed?

Virginia will still get a number 1 seed. They have 3 losses to Duke, UNC, and UofL. In theory none of those are bad losses. One was on the road, one on a neutral court. They won the ACC regular season. Yes, they are fading, yes they are overrated, but the committee will still reward them with a number 1 seed and probably schister Villanova or Wisconsin with a number two only because they will feel the need to put somebody like Arizona on the one line to fulfill that need to acknowledge the western half of the U.S.

Forgive my ignorance here - but who would take 1 seeds over them? I would think Wisconsin, if they win their conference should, of course - but who else?

I'd also think, given last night, that Duke lost their 1 seed and drops a line, and Wisconsin moves up. Or, because I fell asleep early and don't know who ALL won and lost yet. I know UVA lost too, but won the regular season ACC title, right?

Geez, this stuff gets all to confusing, LOL

End of story.*

(*should be... it'd be said of UK, if they were in the same position)

Dook probably deserves a #1 seed. However, there is no way Virginia should be any better than a #2. However, being fair has never been a strong suit of any of the selection committees. I wish they would pick 64, not 68, teams and put their names in a hat and draw randomly for the sites and seeds. At least that way it is fair for everyone.
