That had Cal not been runner up twice but won the final game at UMass and Memphis there would be no vacated Final Fours.
NCAA = one of the greatest bastions of hypocrisy of all time.

True. No wonder the NCAA has no credibility anymore.

It's the NCAA's new nicer, gentler rules interpretation

They had to get the soft gloves out to do Syracuse first, now they can "just kid" UNC a little bit and the precedent has already been set

Guaranteed: next time UK gets in trouble it will be right back to hammer and tong

Guaranteed

I agree with your point, the NCAA won't vacate a championship.I posted much the same feeling yesterday, that is part of the problem with the UNC situation, they can't figure a way around doing that

Hell, they won't dare hit Syracuse or UNC where it really hurts. Taking away TV money or future NCAA tournament opportunities. These scandals might as well have been going on for decades. Oh wait!!!

I wonder... if it had been only 1 UNC**** championship, instead of (at least) 3 titles, if they'd have whacked them by now? If they even had a thought about it, taking all 3 inhibited that idea.

The NCAA has always punished the semi-finalists and runner-ups over the actual winners when wrongdoing is confirmed.

UCLA- Only got their 1980 Runner-up banner taken away despite over a decade worth of infractions from Sam Gilbert/UCLA. No titles, no John Wooden victories vacated despite the same thing occurring.

Michigan- Lost their 1992, 1993 runner-up banners.

Memphis- Ridiculously lost their 2008 banner but Kansas was allowed to keep their banner despite the Darryl Arthur situation.

Villanova- lost their 1971 banner

They take away Final Fours and runner-ups unless you're Duke/UNC but they won't touch title banners.

If they didn't take away a Syracuse final 4, they sure as hell aren't going to take away Unc title
