Doing well but still adjusting to the trees and grass. Turns out dog food (no pork of course) is a step up from what they're used to eating. This will save much money over time.
Only real downside is they keep yelling "allahu akbar, jihad" and I'm almost positive that time is the only cure.

I'd gladly take any Syrian refugee over most of the hillbillies in Kentucky. Trade em straight up.

My daughter worked for Refugee Ministries in Louisville for several years. She helped a surprising number of the ethnicities "flooding" into Kentucky. And there's always going to be baggage. There always has been. It's called being human. People are trying to leave terrible times behind and are willing to endure bad but less terrible times here. Good for them.

Why is this news?

The government has a responsibility to the people first, not refugees. Times are very unstable and there's too many reports to cite of the refugees not being properly veted. When ONE of those refugees hits us hard, your kind is done and in the closet for another 50 years.

Well, no. The government isn't perfect. Nor are refugees going to be. Nativism comes and goes, and the world doesn't stop because nativists and Know Nothings think they've discovered that the road to utopia comes from kicking the unfortunate.

As for vetting refugees, they're better vetted than a certain presumptive nominee of a major political party. A yuge favorite who seems to something of a pig in a poke. Is it all pretend and make-believe? Is he a secret gun grabber?

Because humans are irrationally afraid of people who aren't like them?

Ignoramus, I say this with sincerity. Your thinking is dangerous.

I could go through any number of reasons why RIGHT NOW they pose a huge threat to national security and the well being of the American people. I do not care how it's been done in the past. I do not care what sort of slanted, self delusional spin you want to throw on it because you're a self righteous ideologue that openly supports risking the American people for whatever gains you think it will bring your fascist cause.

No one wants to kick the unfortunate. We can help them in many ways, none of which MUST involve bringing them to the U.S. right now.

Secret gun grabber, lol.

Keep pretending to be something other than anti-American filth.

Yeah, I mean why would be people be alarmed that backwards, possibly diseased people that have a culture of violence and oppression are coming into their culture? It's not like Europe has shown us how Muslims treat western women. That nickname "Rapefugees" is about someone else.

It's not like they come from a culture that often believes in Sharia Law and has zero tolerance for people not like them when the numbers are in their favor. Plus, there's no issue of a backwards culture refusing to assimilate and expecting to be accommodated and we all know they will not be an economic burden.

Explain to me why it's our job to take on everyone else's problems? Explain to me why our culture and success are things to be apologetic about and just stand by and watch it destroyed in the name of leftist ideology?

If the leftist actually had to live with these people they always advocate for, you'd see things change quickly. Just like you'd see it changed if these people voted Republican. Dems would stop immigration immediately.

Why doesn't anyone say anything to Japan about their immigration policies? They don't give a **** about everyone else. They care about their people and protecting their culture and rightfully so.

It has always been "RIGHT NOW". People have always justified crap that way. And the world isn't going to stop because you feel threatened. I'm sorry you do. The world's a dangerous place, and (as the saying goes) nobody gets out alive.

The presumptive GOP nominee hasn't always been a mouthpiece for the NRA. Which statements represent his "real" beliefs? All the "lol" in the world doesn't help you know. And the doubts about his sincerity has helped fuel the collapse in his support. What if all his pandering has been just to soothe his vanity at being joked about at the Correspondents Dinner a few years ago?

I agree, we should cut the military budget.

America: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free...nah, we're just f*cking with ya."

Japan is crumbling because of their immigration policies. Have you seen a graph of the age of their society? That is definitely not a healthy society. It's like a real life version of that movie Children of Men.

Agree. But check in the front door and not break through a back window.

We need to seal off the southern border and put in an "Ellis Island" like immigration processing center. Once topped off...Closed for Business. Pretty sure America has done it before.

I must have missed the part that said "Yeah, bring your violent lunatics who hate the west and people with their hands out and unwillingness to work yet refuse to assimilate."

That will do it.

Let's not act like today's immigrants are anything like that of the past.

And I must have missed the beheadings and stonings in Lexington since 2013.

You assume these particular refugees are a threat based on...?

But I too support strict policies for refugees. It's a good thing we have it.

"...it is worth pointing out that America has one of the toughest screening programs of any country in the world for admitting refugees. That is why the US State Department says it will be up to two years before Syrian refugees would be resettled in the US.

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson describes the US vetting process as "extraordinarily thorough and strong".

"It is always the applicant's burden of proof to demonstrate that he or she qualifies for refugee status in this country," he said. "This includes providing information to confirm identity, and to properly assess whether the applicant will represent a security risk to the country. If we do not have information to reach a sound decision, or the application raises questions not satisfactorily addressed, the case is put on hold until we have more, or is denied."

The safeguards that are used include biometrics, or fingerprint and biographic checks, and a lengthy in-person overseas interview that is carried out by specially trained officers.

It is worth noting, too, that the overwhelming majority of refugees are themselves the victims of terrorism - not its perpetrators."
