Free throws were the difference in this game. Brown 11-22, NU 19-21. NU was lucky to get the W.
I hope BB eventually finds a way to hit his 3s, because this team desperately needs some O from someone besides Audige. BB's 1-7 were on wide open shots. I cringe every time he throws one up.

On the whole, if this team could just shoot a little better from 3, they could be very interesting.
I was at the game and still do not understand why they shoot 3's when no one on their team is under the basket for a rebound. The stats say they had a good offensive rebounding day. The majority of these must have happened in the second half. The first half was painful.
Smells like the Pitt game with Brown just being a lesser opponent, so they were able to get a narrow victory instead of a huge blow out loss. NU Basketball not so hot coming off holiday breaks.
If you were at the game, you also noticed that we almost never looked inside.
Either Nicholson knows he isn't going to get the ball in the paint or he doesn't know how to post up. Or both. He never moves decisively to establish position in the low post. I want to believe thats on him and not the coaches, but I don't know.
