Has anyone seen the kid play live? I think on 247 he’s rated 14th overall for next year. Being a PG rated that highly and from KY I would think there would be some interest there both ways. With KY kids tho u never know if they have grown up as a UK or UL fan. Just based on the rating would assume he has the talent to play here right?

From what I know…the local Cincy schools are definitely an option but I think he ends up at UK! Would love for him to be a Cat.

It’s crazy how for decades the state produced very little talent. Now following Reed we could end up with Perry, Noah, Johnson, Moreno, possibly Max Green and or Taylen Kinney. I’m not sure why it’s on an uptick but very thankful and hope it continues not just because they are Kentucky kids but just the fact that it helps in the recruiting battles.

The upswing in talent has been amazing. Don't forget the #1 player in the 2026 class, Tyran Stokes, is from Louisville.

Yeah I have no idea how we all of a sudden have a plethora of talent in state but man it’s so nice. Let’s hope the trend continues because there are kids in state right now 8, 10, 12 years old that are gonna grow up watching UK and the exciting way we will play. Makes you feel almost like the 80s again. You grow up watching that and loving this program which is what most of us did but now some of those kids will have the talent to live it as well it’s no small thing.

Only thing about having so much talent in the state is that you are going to miss on a lot of kids. I think we will have a lot of kids from all over that would love to play at UK and Coach Pope is going to take the best player for the team regardless of what state they are from. We might have to get KY kids to transfer in their junior years to UK to finish their careers.

If you have talented players who want to be here more than anything else (that will apply to many in-state players) you absolutely take them. Not only will they play hard but are more likely to help build roster continuity which is crucial

If he's not from Jefferson County which Kinney's not. Then odds are he's a UK fan.

I watched the Texas 6A state champs last year play a few games, and they went undefeated. I'm pretty certain either Perry's Lyon County team or Moreno's Great Crossing would have beat them fairly easy. That isn't always the case as Julius Randle, the Harrison Twins, Maxey and Cason Wallace were all on great high school teams in TX. Harlan was a good scrappy team, but Noah carried them, and they kind of got hot at the Sweet Sixteen. Lyon County had about 4 guys go D-1. The best player on Plano East (Texas champs) was a 6-6 Center, and Malachi would dominate him.

Kinney's Newport team split with Perry's Lyon County head-to-head. Pretty sure Tay can play.

I assumed as a NKY kid he would not be on the table for Kentucky. They weird, different up there. Probably Ciny or OHS😬
