There needed to be a change at the coach of the ol. That opportunity was there over the last year. Unless something changes, this will be a 3rd straight year of subpar o lines. There is talent but the performance is continuously piss poor. If someone had insights as to why Beamer has kept this boat anchor around the offense I’m all ears. Wins will come despite the o line not bc of it. Other schools wouldn’t just allow this over and over…yet, here we are. Brain droppings for Labor Day.

Agree, middle of the OL is weak and will get LS killed if not fixed.
LS really got nailed on the fumble!

It’s a mixed bag. Teasley can really recruit. But the OL seems to want to see our QB in traction. I suppose better play with less talent might be better. But seeing our line play so lousy sure gets old.

Apparently he can really recruit turnstiles that can't pass or run block.

Agreed.... This is it for him. Games are usually always won or lost on the LOS

One game - no chance to improve, huh? Talk about overreaction, can we wait and see what happens over the next 11 games?
They played well in the 4th quarter. VT defense and playcalling had something to do with the performance in the first 3 quarters. That said, Newsom should be replaced at left guard.

Is Tree in the doghouse?

What would be the chance of moving Shawn Elliott back into the OL coach role? Demote Teasley to asst. I'm sure Teasley wouldn't take kindly to that, and would probably be gone shortly. Of course, by the time Spurrier left and SE moved to interim HC, if I recall correctly, our OL was already slipping....
I don't know, but with the supposed talent we are signing, something is amiss and needs to change.

That was because of Spurrier's retirement comment. It killed recruiting.

What good are great recruits if they perform poorly under his coaching?

We have 3 OL coaches on the staff. (Adkins, Teasley and Elliott) It is hard for me to understand why we are not better at blocking. And it is not just this year.
If we could only run block average or only pass block average you could make it work.

It was inexcusable that Beamer kept Teasley after 2 consecutive seasons of poor OL performance. So, Teasley can recruit. So could TROB as DC under Muschamp. But our defense sucked during that time. I sometimes wonder if Beamer accidently golfed with a mob boss and that Teasley got a photo of that.

Definitely missed opportunity to upgrade. I hate to point at klempson but they would never stand pat with sub par. They pull the trigger to get better. Need that mentality.

I said after 2023 that he needed to go. Some were in agreement while others felt you couldn't fire a guy after his first season. My opinion was that if you coach up arguably the worst unit in all of college football, first year or not, you should be canned. Things were not really any better last year. Yet he was brought back.

All along, some have made excuses for why it's really not the OL's fault. WRs don't get open quick enough. QB holds onto the ball too long. RBs don't block well. At some point, though, you just have to acknowledge the obvious.

That means they may be making a change after this year. I mean their running game averaged something like 1.7 YPC at home. Sure, the LSU was tough, but they suck on offense.

I was right there with you 18, two years ago, that Teasely had to go. I hate having been right.

I would have been in disagreement two years ago but after last year, I would say it is do or die year now. He has had dudes in the system for 2 years with this being year 3. He is a great recruiter but OL looked maybe worse than last year.

I am hoping for improvement this year and if not.......bye.

The results indicate he's not a good recruiter.

Did you watch the top 10 games this weekend? Very few OLines looked good vs top defenses.. it's not just us. It's Game 1...
Yeah, that's true. We are as close to true parity as you can get. Every ranked team is probably an injury or 2 away from mediocre.

I am wondering if our guys are in good enough shape. Especially with the inside guys, they always seem to be slow getting of the ball. An offensive lineman should not be consistently getting beat off the ball. They supposedly know the snap count. Why is the defensive lineman getting by you before you can even lay a hand on him.
