Tell me about Gary Trent Jr?

How athletic is he? I mean, I know all college ball players are athletic, and I know Luke Kennard was a quarterback and so is athletic, but I mean basketball athletic. Gary's wingspan isn't terribly good... about the same as his height...

But I feel like this year was missing long athletes at the guard spot (Luke, Grayson, and Matt are all not terribly quick on their feet or long in their wingspan). I know that we don't tend to have a lot of that type of player, but man, we could use them... you tend to need long athletic guys to play D, and we haven't had a lot of those recently.

Yeah, he is exactly the type of athletic kid who is SO tough to deal with. He should be getting some time in the future.

I went to a couple of games this year and in warm ups javin showed some elite athleticism. Where the rest of his game stands I have no idea but dude is a freak athlete

I really like the small sample I've seen. He seems to possess solid strength + a nice rhythm to his game.

Trent is in the mold of his father, but only a better pro prospect at a young age. GaryJr, has a savage mentality on the court his father would have nothing less. I think he is somewhat of a streaky shooter.

I saw him twice in the Flying to the Hoop tourney in two games. Against Huntington Prep he had a stretch where he scored 10 or 11 straight points being guarded by a great athlete who's going to Florida. He will be ready once he gets on campus.

I think if Trent Jr. was raised by the Trent Sr. that KG describes in the video interview above, then Duke will have a great player.

Frank shot like 50%

It doesn't matter but I'd be willing to bet you Frank didn't even shoot close to 50% from 3. Grayson and Frank probably shot similar percentages, but Grayson had more attempts and the defense keyed in on him a bit more.

All in all, both are good shooters. If Trent Jr is as good as either of them, and I anticipate he will be, Duke will be in good shape.
