Yesterday during the Cats’ game the broadcasters were talking about the Cats’ length this year, and one of them (I think Bardo) commented that they were something like the fifth tallest team in Div 1 this year.
I always thought length was used to differentiate the combination reach and quickness from height. Pardon, for instance, was not tall for a center, but he was long: he had long arms and quick lateral movement, allowing him to play effectively against taller opponents.
Am I wrong about my understanding of the term long, or were they just being lazy.
I have seen some posts here about the Cats’ length this year. To my eye, Nance and Turner play long. Kopp is somewhat the opposite. To me, the Law/Lindsey/Pardon teams played with length at least equal to this one.
