Travis Perry was isn’t Reed Sheppard, and that’s fine. I think he’s going to be a good 4 year player here and by his junior and senior years he could be really good.
He certainly wasn’t in him nor do we want him to be lol.

Even our most delusional loonies didn't think he would be half of Reed Shephard this year. Would welcome any quote to prove me wrong.
You may be underestimating a few loons.

Travis Perry comes in and does what Coach Pope wants out of hime that is to get the ball to the experienced players...he does that and don't make many mistakes he could be jacking shots up we all know he can make three point shots, he just does his job I feel completely comfortable with him out there and I believe our coach does too.

An Appalachian accent (or any other regional accent) does not equate lack of intelligence, as though your comment implies.
I was thinking western kentucky accent where my loon relatives live. The accent doesn't make them or me loons.
The belief that their 2nd region brother should be playing more without any evidence it's so does. Same for the 13th region folks I'd imagine.
Not in any way equating intellect to dialect. WRONG!

Last night I paid extra attention when Perry was in the game. He’s not going to wow you at any point in his career but his passes were crisp, had a nice offensive rebound off a loose ball, and even though they gave Hubbard the and 1 I thought he played two very well 1 on 1 possessions against Hubbard. When the 3 is falling it’s just the cherry on top. Want to say he’s made a 3 in the last 4 games at least.

There are 5400 reasons to expect that he will eventually be a reliable scorer in his career here.

I totally did and I own it. He did better than Reed in high school in the same league so I thought he would do at least as well as Reed at the next level. I soapboxed that mess. If that's loony that's cool.

I hope the dude can play 10 solid minutes per game for us next year. But he’s clearly not a dude whose HS game will translate at this level. I stand by those words. We will have superior guards here for the duration of his UK career.

What exactly do you think qualifies as “translating”?

Yeah, obviously he’s not gonna score a gazillion points here like he did in high school. NOBODY thought he would. But he’s already showing he can be an effective part of the rotation against high level ranked opponents as a freshman. He’s making good decisions, he’s now hitting shots when he gets a clean look, he’s not hurting us with bad blunders.

As long as he continues to gradually improve upon that, it’s translation enough for me.

Well on the pre show today a regular guy fan came in with expectations of more Perry and Noah.
On the coach Pope show tonight, 2 of the first 4 calls got to the same point.
2 of the 3 sounded like me and my kin. The other more professorial like you.
But they all had the expectation that Perry and Noah could be like Shep just given more run.
Is Richie gon play tahniite?

Tell me you lack evaluation skills without telling me you lack evaluation skills...he will be average 8-9 ppg next year and get about 20 min a game.

His game has already translated. He is a control the tempo get the team running the correct set type of point guard and he has been elite at doing that while NOT turning the ball over. This is one of the worst takes I have seen in a while.

Perry looking great. Clanking threes. Throwing inbounds pass to the wrong team. Getting cooked on defense for the huge dunk.

I’m not mad at you showing the world who you are. Just don’t pretend to be a fan anymore.
Oh I’m a fan. And you were probably one of the guys who is a huge fan of Cal. One of those guys that said if you don’t support him, you don’t support the team blah blah blah. Seems like you wear the blue goggles, bud.

I’m actually done with you. I can deal with anyone regardless of how extreme….with the exception of fake fans. Hate when you say you bleed blue and you care more about showing how much smarter you are than the coach and berating the players. You’re only the second person I’ve ever set to ignore on this site. Congratulations, you can take a seat at the troll table with Butters’ Dad. Ignored.

Terrapin must be one of Perry HS classmates and a bit jealous?

Aside from my snide remark above... no one thought Perry would come in and light the world on fire. He's a true freshman that will take likely until his Junior year to get any significant minutes.

He's absolutely doing a great job the last several games giving Butler a break.

Perry isn't ready yet, and that's okay. He's playing a bit of a roll bc Kerr is out and giving butler some rest. Ppl too brainwashed to think freshman should contribute more.

I know there's favoritism bc he's a KY kid...afterall ppl aren't screaming for Chandler to get in

But outside his spot minutes, not strong enough, can't create his own shot. Confident in him if he has a wide open set shot tho.
