Awesome performance.

The guy is averaging 10 points and almost 9 boards in like 20.5 mins a game.

Some morons n the game thread said he's worst center since skal. Did no one watch the 3 stooges we trotted out as center's last season?

Jamal Mercer said his 8 boards in a game where he only played 22 minutes was unacceptable. Just a mess of a poster. 🤣

His passing is absolutely elite for a guy his size, and his decision making was much quicker tonight. Great game from him and we will need this type of effort every time out and twice in the tournament games!!

He played very well the turnovers notwithstanding. He hasn't been as bad as people make it out to be, but some have to have a scapegoat.
And a few of those turnovers are guys bobbling the pass on the receiving end. It’s also tk he expected that he will have a few just by the nature of being the give and go guy that the offense is running through. In a free flowing offense with spontaneous cuts, occasionally he is going to anticipate the cut and see an angle from his POV and the would be cutter flares back the opposite direction resulting in a misread.

Point being….hes being asked to do A LOT and is playing admirably….especially when he hits the boards w energy like he did tonight

So right about being asked to do a lot. Not only that, he's being asked to do a lot in the SEC and against teams like Duke, Clemson, and Louisville of the ACC and OSU of the Big 10.

This is a vastly harder level of basketball than he's ever had to consistently play against. He's just not a 20 point guy offensively and shouldn't be counted on to get near that every night. He was a 12-14 point guy on average in the Colonial Athletic conference.

It’s a really bad idea to create threads like this after the dude has one decent game. The fact remains that going with him as the starting 5 and running offense through him will be a key reason we bow out early in the tourney.

You can keep making or resurrecting threads each time he has a decent game, but also remember to call me out when he ***** the bed in March - which he will.

There’s about a 96% chance that UK will bow out in March every single season based on past percentages. 🤡

He was great last night. I’ve been somewhat critical of Amari simply because I was expecting more shotblocking from him. He’s been okay, I just thought he would average 2-3 blocks a game playing with better players.

I’ll agree with that, I thought he’d be a much better presence on defense as well.

He’s everything I thought and hoped he would be offensively though. Quite frankly, I think we’d be screwed without him.

Amari isn’t a Demarcus Cousins type….and I think given his size some people expected him to be.
I don’t think he has that mentality..
and that does not make him a bad player. Reminds me a little of Azubuike…size and skills…but kind of on the gentle giant side

He’s a lot more physical than he’s given credit for. We all see the head-scratching effort issues but it isn’t isolated to Amari. “Fans” just have to have a whipping boy all the time. We demand the players be all in as a unit and then we work as hard as we can to sow division amongst the players. I don’t know Terrapin Station from a hole in the ground but if he is actually a fan he should be supporting our players not looking to tear them down (and no, I don’t mean typical game analysis or acknowledgment of poor play). That’s the issue I have and it’s widespread —- Terrapin Station just happens to be ringleader of it.

No it’s not isolated to Amari. You are correct
To be brutally honest I’m almost always surprised to see the box score and see Amari did far better than it seemed on the floor
Maybe it’s because he’s not a mean mugging flexer lol

For whatever reason, some Kentucky fans love to find a villain on their own team to root against.
Briscoe, Teague, Skal, Harrison twins, PJ.
Whenever they make a mistake, it's a stampede to the keyboard to ***** and moan, but you can tell they love to do it.
Not just this board.
Jackass radio host did it half a dozen time last night.

Sad. I play a little game with it. When I hear something like that, I ask if it would sound like a rival fan would say it. If it sounds like something a UL fan would say it shouldn’t come from ours

Averages 10 pts, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. I'll take that for someone that isn't a focus on offense.

I was surprised at how quietly he piled up numbers. I wonder if it's because the announcers don't talk much about him in-game, not sure.
