This Person has made a fool of himself many times UK Athletics banned him from our Kickoff
And Tip off luncheons after he called UK grads “black lung recipients “ and other low class remarks but ‘‘this statement takes the cake

Terry wasn’t calling UK graduates those things. He was making fun (albeit misguided) of the basketball fans. Terry graduated from UK. His brother Mike played under Claiborne at UK.
Also, doesn’t the UL band play it? If anything (non Covid times)—it takes away their opportunity to play it (which I’m sure gives you some satisfaction).

It’s a tradition in my family to sing My Old Kentucky Home at weddings. So, when my cousin was getting married to up north (NYC area) we had them play it. Take in mind, the bourbon had been flowing for awhile before this.

Anyways, no one told the DJ to only play the first verse of the song. And that’s the story of why the bride’s family believes she married a hillbilly.

Terry did not graduate from anywhere, much less UK.

For example, African-American abolitionist Frederick Douglass promoted the song, among other similar songs of the time period, in his autobiography My Bondage and My Freedom as evoking a sentimental theme that promotes and popularizes the cause of abolishing slavery in the United States. Douglass commented, "They [My Old Kentucky Home, Good-Night!, etc.] are heart songs, and the finest feelings of human nature are expressed in them. [They] can make the heart sad as well as merry, and can call forth a tear as well as a smile. They awaken the sympathies for the slave", he stated, "in which anti-slavery principles take root and flourish".[11]

Absolute lie Meiners was kissing Pitino’s butt he turned on UK fans and did it daily on his radio show The UK Alumni Association asked several UK grads in Louisville to call his largest advertisers to tell them how he ridiculed UK I received a cell phone call from him threatening me with bodily harm(documented) he is a vile human being.
He is not a Graduate he flunked out his Sophomore year. Maybe TM owes you money

That dude is dead, though. And definitely not woke.

Meiners plays both sides. And I always thought his hillbilly UK-fan call-in was pure gold. There wasn't a better person in the state trashing UofL than that guy.
Remember when he got ticketed by LMPD traffic a decorated black officer who he called “Black Barney” a real class act... NOT!

Wasn't Stephen Foster an abolitionist? Are we really going to just ignore history for giggles? That slippery slope is an avalanche at this point.

When Meiners was on with Ron Clay, he was funny. I attribute that to Ron.

To any who "personally know" Meiners ask him why he never called out Rick Pitino, or the other one... Petrino, for all the bull that occurred on U6's campus. Hell, just any of the BS that occurred at U6 for the past decade.

I don’t need to ask him. Terry - just like Matt Jones - gets a lot further with his job when he maintains great relationships with the people in charge of the local sports teams. So since Terry is in Louisville, that means maintaining a friendly relationship with the UofL guys. Remember, Terry isn’t a journalist, he’s a media personality.

At my daughters wedding, it was the Father-Daughter dance song, selected by my daughter.

It says more about the state of news media in Louisville that people still allow Meiners to get anywhere near a microphone.

Meiners is definitely more of my parents generation than mine. I moved to satellite radio long ago, but guys like Meiners are a dying breed in age of national syndication and podcasts. He’s just a good ol’ Louisville Catholic boy at end of day.
