No surprise one bit after dropping a game to Kansas. Or really his fate was sealed earlier in the year. Says he will coach UT's final game before stepping down.

Why would Charlie hang around for the TCU game? I actually would like to see Texas win it for him. He deserves it as far as I'm concerned.

Bob Stoops would be really smart to bring Charlie Strong on as a defensive advisor until he lands elsewhere. Mike can obviously use the help. Sabin has had great success bringing in advisors at Bama.

An overall losing record over three years at UT, with their money, resources, talent, and expectations, combined with a loss to Kansas = termination. No other way to spin it.

Charlie is a Florida / SEC territory guy. He's going to do better down there. From what I read, he just can't get in sync with the Texas HS system. The HS coaches don't like him.

Some of the boosters had discussed how well he would be received in Texas during his hiring process. If you can't work with the Texas high school coaches, you have a big problem as a head coach. I haven't heard anything about this specifically, but it makes sense.

This is the most interesting bit I've read on here for a long time.

I know that was a valid statement at the beginning of his tenure. I'll admit that I haven't read that much about it since 2015, but I don't see how he would have changed their minds by now.

From what I've read, he really connects with Florida kids and coaches, particularly the Miami hotbed of talent, and that's where most of his recruits at Louisville came from. They made it seem as if it were his recruiting at Louisville that made the team and not his coaching. Recruiting South Florida and recruiting Texas are two totally opposite things.

There are some interesting articles out there if you search something like, "Why Charlie Strong failed at Texas."

I also read that Strong would be one of only 2 Head Football Coaches at Texas that had losing records, Jack Chevigny was the first 1934 to 1936 with a record of 13-14-2

Texas can't afford to pay the new coach as much as they're paying CS. 1 million per win is too much!

And now the whorn sissies are saying things like...

Receiver Reggie Hemphill:

Damn I wanna cry..

LMAO...

They might protest...

Huh! It may be that the Texas players should be playing somewhere that 16-20 is okay. What about getting your *** kicked around by Kansas being about the best way of getting a $10m separation payment don't they understand? Or is the boycott just a way of saving Charlie from going out as a loser? Hello! You're coach is already a loser.

Will we see more "cry-ins" if the Texas players want Strong to stay ?

True. Good luck with that. I can't remember, but I suspect there was a little of that when Blake was fired. But that was almost 20 years ago so any protest may linger on a bit more now days. The end result won't be any different. Charlie's gone.

Yep, there was; it's only thing Ahmad Kabba is known for...... well, that and catching 9 passes.
