Agree they have leverage. Now we just wait and see if the commissioner can work magic with this leverage or get left outside in the cold.Yes. The amount of cash they owe is massive. It seems like our new Commish is using it as leverage. My guess is that in exchange for letting them out early we will get 2 things
1) Comp on our next contract (divide what is owed over the course of the contract)
2) Inside track to getting a golden ticket on the SEC/Big10 train.
3) Co-op on gutting the PAC 12 and ACC.
The Big 12 could legit drag this **** out for 3 more years or force a massive one time payout from Texas and OU. Obviously the SEC thinks they can make a deal we can't refuse. I think that is the deal.
Leverage. Yormark seems to know how to use it. Bowlsby would have bent over.Yes. The amount of cash they owe is massive. It seems like our new Commish is using it as leverage. My guess is that in exchange for letting them out early we will get 2 things

Cincy, BYU, Houston, and UCF. These four will not see a dime of that exit fee. Contract sharing can be negotiated to withhold the money owed by Texas and OU.Willing to assume Yormack will negotiate a good outcome for us. However, on the surface, I don't like the sound of adding the $$ owed by TX & OU to our next contract. The money OU & TX owe should only go to the remaining 8 teams that represent the B12 today. If it is used as leverage to bump the next TV contract, the 4 new teams will also get a piece of that pie.
Cincy, BYU, Houston, and UCF shouldn't get a penny of the exit fees due to from OU & TX
