Texas State Fair

Well, I lived in Dallas for the last 12 years. I live in Los Angeles now, but it's still my directive to go every year. Fly in Friday night and leave Sunday night.
Agreed. It is a very good State Fair there is a ton of stuff to see and do. And yes, you could spend a full two days to see and do everything (as well as spend a small fortune).
Was planning on going this year with the wife for the first time. She had hip surgery about a month ago, so don't think she is quite strong enough to make a fair on her feet all day. May have to wait till next year.

is that serious? I didn't go because no one from LA had ever been and couldn't tell me if it was worth it.
I want to go and take my wife she has never been. We are both retired. I know she won't go on rides, only a few for me, if that.
You've been missing out. It's tons of fun and you should get new friends. It's over for this season.
If she's hurting, she's not having any fun. That means you aren't having any fun. Probably wiser to hold off until next year to give her more time to heal and build her strength.
