I would like thank all of you who made our trip to Lexington so enjoyable!

It had been over 30 years since my last trip to the Blue Grass State, so the views and scenery as we made our way north and east from I-65 were incredible. The weather was perfect for the start of football season (it was around 95 with 90% humidity down here), although I'm not sure I'm up for a winter up in your neck of the woods.

We had a chance to drive around the campus before finding a tailgating spot at a medical office park off of Nicholasville - you have a beautiful campus. Obviously no SEC school accommodates visiting fans with prime tailgating spots, so finding something within a 15 minute walk of the stadium was a bonus and well worth $30. The UK fans that completely surrounded us made us VERY welcome with offers of food and adult beverages from across the parking lot that we graciously accepted when we could. The gentleman and his son who were parked next to us shared food and tastes from local brewery and distillery provisions (I doubt I will drink a TN bourbon again!). Walking to the stadium we were greeted with a "welcome" and "thanks for making the trip" by all UK fans we met, I'm pretty sure things won't be quite so accommodating when we visit Baton Rouge on Oct. 15th. The stadium is extremely impressive, we'd love to have the finances to build something similar.

I won't discuss the game beyond saying the result made for an enjoyable ride home. I hope that we get to return to Lexington again in the future and look forward to repaying the hospitality next year in Hattiesburg.

Yay!!!

Thanks for coming into commonwealth stadium and giving uk the business. We always love taking an *** stroke while saying "that there them there bayskeeball cayuts will cut down the nets in May". I mean April, or June when the pros do their thing. Oh, guess there is no difference.

Truly, if uk were serious about football, you'd be going home with a 56-0 loss. But no, I get to witness misery while you get to witness a win. In fact, I guess I get to work in yard the rest of the fall cause I'll not be at conmonwealth this year.

Yay!!!

Thanks for the class post OP. Feel free to come back and post. I like it when intelligent fans from other teams drop by to talk football. Good luck the rest of this year, and I hope we beat the fire out of your team next season.

Just thank the football team for such an enjoyable experience.
The post wasn't about the game, it was about the fans that made the day enjoyable. Maybe you need to go to the Florida game next week to experience how crappy fans treat visitors.

To reply as you did, you clearly love taking a loss on the football field. What are you, a door mat?

I used to love going to CWS to watch football but no more. Not saying it was this game that drove the stake but actually, it's a culmination.

To the original poster, I remember watching Casey Fisher dropping what seemed like 3 bombs on the Cards when they played in the Metro Conference in the 80s. Loved watching that guy play. (who here knows who Casey Fisher is?)

To ednygma who insinuated I was a jerk, fu.

I did the time and paid dues as I suppose any d1 athlete would pay. Liked going to uk football games after playing but it Just Aint Going To Happen until the money folk say otherwise.

Instead, I'll tend to my yard and garden. Maybe I'll paint some. Bottom line is that I'll not be back at cws...too miserable.

Good game Kentucky. Seriously, of all the sec schools I root for you guys. I like you guys and do wish you the best in the season! When you come to Hattiesburg, we hope those of you who make the trip leave with a good impression of the food and fun from the Deep South.

Thanks for proving my point. Enjoy your bitter life. You are the one that insinuated the original poster made fun of Kentucky fans with your "We always love taking an *** stroke while saying "that there them there bayskeeball cayuts will cut down the nets in May". I mean April, or June when the pros do their thing." comment. If you cannot see that that was pretty lame on your part then we will just have to agree to disagree.
