And more than 100% of it already committed. That's why our "net position" is going down at a breathtaking clip...

Doesnt include ACC bowl share money , nor ACC network money.

The payments of 3 yrs per year are
4,5,5.
Theyll be made.

Next.

ACC money is already baked into the budget. Maybe the ACC Network money is incremental.

This buyout money is coming from a bank account. Tyra told you that a few minutes ago...

Come on, zipp. This stuff is not rocket science. You know as well as I do what happened here. Someone (or several someones), showed up with $14 million to buy out Petrino, which probably started happening the moment Tom Meeker said there was no money to fund the buyout.

And several other someones showed up with another $5 million to buy out our top choice, should he be interested in the job. Those someone’s likely already know the answer to that question, as well....

Only in the case of basketball arenas does this stuff get done without the commitment in place to make the required payments when they are due.

Oh, I've watched events like these play out before, so thanks for reminding me...

Donors stepping forward is big and positive news. It's found money, and it's affirmation of management decision-making. Do I think Tyra would have at least mentioned in front of a camera that he had secured outside funding?...Absolutely. And that's even if he didn't wanna name names.

It's also why Tyra made oblique references to athletics financing today, because he knows that's where most or all of the money's coming from. Today's news is bad news for everyone else in the ULAA who sit at the feeding table...

Zipp, you assured us all several times that the buyout had to be paid in full in only one year.
No, I never said that. I said his contract stipulated "quarterly" payments, and was ambiguous on everything else. I actually speculated that since the buyout was salary based, it would have to be paid at least as fast as his salary would have been earned. And that's how Tyra said it's gonna be paid.

Not that I think it matters... Our liquidity issue ain't gonna be fixed in 2-3 years anyway. We will keep bleeding red ink until more money is coming in the door.

I can't feel too bad for a guy who just walked away with $14 million to do nothing.

And it ramps up the financial pressure on Tyra.

Today's been a good day...

We are fortunate to have a decisive leader steering the ship! All UofL fans are thankful.

He's definitely steering something. And I'll sit on my "thanks" until I find out where...

The way you’ve acted it would be fine if you get left at the dock. Your alternative narratives are getting really stale. Get better not bitter.

I'm absolutely fine, thanks for asking. And still bagging "likes" while doing anything but trying...

Lol! Awesome put that on your rivals resume. I’m glad you aren’t lonely in the Fellowship of the Miserable. They must love your fiction.

Zipp, most of those on this site think that today is a good day because a woefully underperforming coach has been jettisoned. On the other hand, it sounds like you think that today is a good day because the financial pressures on the current AD have increased as a result of Petrino’s buyout and the pending hiring of a new coach. Do I have that right? If so, are you truly a fan and supporter of UofL athletics or not?

Thanks for asking... I support U of L and its sports programs. "U of L athletics" is a bureaucracy, and the AD is an administrator. I don't own any logowear emblazoned with "athletics", and I didn't grow up cheering for administrators.

Some folks don't understand those distinctions. I learned to respect and admire the jobs that Ramsey and Jurich did. But truth be told, I couldn't less about administrators like the Prez and AD. They're simply paid to do jobs like anyone else...

You didn’t do much “bagging them likes” with your posts overnight. Keep trying though!
Seems odd that he would tout this - given that he’s OTR as saying how meaningless they are, not to mention that many of the ones he’s getting now by taking the positions he has, are from yut fans.

Was gonna “like” this post, but I’ll just write it out - I agree with your take.

You've now hit on the point you've evidently been missing... I'm the last guy who posts to get 'likes'. Yet they come...

You'll most likely hit on my point that you've evidently missed. You say that you don't care about likes but here you are talking about the amount you have - and how you get them without trying - in multiple posts. It's evident that you care way more about them than you let on - even when they come from slapdicks...

Human nature I guess...
