This year has been disappointing. But while the final part of the ride was tough, we finally got to visit some great scenery along the way.

It's not just for 2017.

Their contributions to laying the foundation for this program are a large part of why the 2018 recruiting class is the best in program history, and why those new recruits will be playing in a game-changing new arena. It's why NU is on the basketball map for the first time ever.

I may sound like I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, but they really did buy into Collins's vision without any sort of proof -- proof that NU really could win in the Big Ten, proof that Collins could be a head coach, proof that other players would follow them.
