Do you stay home or do you travel?

We stay in Louisville thankfully so no traveling. Lunch with my side of the family and then dinner with the in-laws. Hoping to buy a lot of the kids gifts online and not deal with the masses.

Bourbon > shopping.

Thursday is lunch with my parents and my mom's side of the family at my parent's house. Dinner with my girlfriend's parents and her mom's side of the family at her mom's house.

After dinner my girlfriend, her mom, and mom's sisters go shopping. I'll go home ot eat leftovers and doze on the couch watching sports until I finally go to bed around 1.

Friday is one of the laziest days of the year.

Saturday is dinner with my girlfriend's dad side of the family.

Sunday is late lunch/dinner with my dad's side of the family.

going down to Georgia to visit my brother. Can't golf this year because of work but other than that it'll be food, fun, family, and football.

Now that my folks are gone, we're scattered to the wind. Damned near estranged. Down to just the wife's family for the past few years. I'll see my BIL, which is cool, but none of my actual brothers, which is strange. Watch the parade. The kids will put up the tree. Coffee, pie and conversation. Then the rest of the afternoon and evening will be spent with piano and guitars singing songs. It's kinda neat, actually. The old dude her mom is married to has a few drinks and later on the songs move from standards to a more Bob & Tom feel.

I'll get up Friday morning for Record Store Day. Easy money to be made.

We are cooking Thursday and we will go out shopping Friday, but no door busting, just walking around the malls and seeing the crowds. Hopefully some golf Saturday or Sunday for me!!!

Dad’s family Thursday afternoon.

Meal with friends Thursday evening. Several of our dishes will be cannabis infused. (Having friends who just came back from Colorado ... with gifts ... is something I’m thankful for)

Meal with in-laws Friday afternoon. No Black Friday. We do Cyber Monday. I don’t deal well with the general public and their lack of driving skills or self awareness.

Wife will put up Christmas decorations Friday and Saturday while I watch football and basketball, eat, and partake in some shrubbery.

Work all weekend and probably an overtime because of the regular shitbags that call in sick every year for the holidays, which nobody but me seems to notice. Curse the traffic. Eat a bunch of leftovers. Fight with the wife over Christmas decorations which she wants to put up but cant seem to help take down before March. Be guilted by my parents who winter in Florida but think I should fly down there for one damn day and fly back. Field a bunch of phone calls from family who are either doing so much better than me or who are broke and wanting to borrow money. All the while praying that VT beats UVA and UK beats UL so that the whole damn weekend doesnt suck to the point of making me contemplate opening a vein! Happy Thanksgiving...woopy damn doo!

My last Thanksgiving in Kentucky was in 1978. I’ll celebrate Native American genocide here. I’ll be back for Christmas though to make sure my vote for Beshear was counted. Who could resist a free bus trip across Kansas for that?

On a more serious note I’ll spend tomorrow with about a dozen friends here, but I will travel to spend Christmas with family in the place I have spent every Christmas of my life. Kentucky.

I traveled 1,100 miles by car this year so I can celebrate Thanksgiving with daughter and granddaughter. Looking forward to it.
Don't know if you have heard but some guys invented this thing called an airplane. It flies in the air long distances in a short time. Google it sometime.

Surrounded by family and friends, tons of food, awash in bourbon, thankful for all the love in my life and knowing that every day above ground is a good day.

God is good.

Um, flew in the previous 3 years and rented cars in Nashville or Atlanta. This year, I brought a carload of stuff with me and saved a few $.

Thanks for playing, Ed. Please try again.

What the hell is a folding bike
I rode the bike pictured below from Greyhound bus station in downtown Knoxville to Washington street in Harrogate back in 2009 seven months after suffering (surviving) two strokes. I bused the bike with me from TX. The ride from Knoxville required 9 hours. 58 miles, I believe. I was wasted. I had to walk up that hill from Powell river to near Oasis Pizza. A great experience.

That bike is with me now. I also own a Brompton folder purchased in London in 2010

Impressive ride. Your health must be better. Your full of piss and vinegar. Enjoy your family.

Wife has been going into the hospital at 4 each morning for the last few days. Forgot to turn off her alarm this morning and the phone was “lost” in the bed for enough time to completely wake us up for the day, so I get it, funky.

Enjoy your day, everyone. Eat all of the good ****.
